Opioid overdose is affecting families, friends, and neighbors in communities all across South Dakota. That’s why having simple, life-saving tools readily available matters so much. One of the most effective tools we have is Naloxone, often known by the brand name Narcan. It can reverse an opioid overdose in minutes and give someone a second chance at life.

We are working with the Northeast Prevention Resource Center to make Naloxone easily accessible in Faulkton. Naloxone for personal use is now freely available at FAMC. You will find it inside the first set of doors at our main clinic entrance.

What makes Naloxone so powerful is that it puts the ability to save a life into the hands of everyday people. Anyone can be trained to recognize an overdose and respond quickly.

If you or someone you care about uses opioids, the risk of overdose is real whether accidental or not. Knowing the warning signs and being ready to act quickly can save a life.

It was our pleasure to host and support the Dementia Dialogues Workshop! Thank you to everyone who participated and partnered with us to make this event a success!

🎉 Congratulations to the dedicated community members in Faulkton who recently completed Dementia Dialogues®!
Throughout the three-day workshop, community members participated in Dementia Dialogues® to increase their understanding of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, learn practical strategies to support individuals living with dementia, and strengthen support for caregivers and families. Your commitment to learning helps build a more informed, compassionate, and dementia-friendly Faulkton community.
A heartfelt thank you to Faulkton Area Medical Center for hosting this important training, and a special thank you to King Insurance, Dacotah Bank, and Faulkton Area Medical Center for sponsoring the workshops and generously providing meals and snacks for participants. Your partnership and support helped make this educational opportunity possible.
