Katherine's Place at Wedington, a place where neighbors become friends, where everyday living is enhanced by meaningful things to do.

We are recreating the culture of long-term care by providing an environment where our elders live in a community with individual neighborhoods. What this means to our elders is that they choose just how much independence they wish to enjoy, whether it’s helping plan a meal, helping cook a meal or setting a table. It may be helping plan an activity or social event or taking part in a resident counc

il meeting. It’s all up to our elders through our liberating and innovate approach to their care. This has helped Katherine’s Place at Wedington become the place where residents become neighbors and neighbors become friends.

Resident Council: Your Voice Matters! 🏡

At Katherine’s Place at Wedington, our monthly Resident Council Meetings are an important opportunity for residents to have a voice in their home. These meetings provide a forum for open communication, allowing residents to share ideas, ask questions, and help improve their quality of life.

During this month’s meeting, we discussed:

🍽️ Meal choices and dining preferences
💬 Resident concerns, suggestions, and any grievances

We value every resident’s input and are committed to listening, responding, and making meaningful improvements based on their feedback.

Our residents had a wonderful time creating beautiful flower-themed crafts using denim and flowers. 🌸💙 These unique creations allowed everyone to express their creativity while enjoying great conversation, laughter, and time together.

Activities like these not only encourage imagination but also help promote fine motor skills, social engagement, and a sense of accomplishment. We love seeing our residents’ personalities shine through every project they create!

Her expertise goes far beyond wound care—she treats each resident with kindness, patience, and respect, helping them feel seen, valued, and cared for throughout their healing journey.

The trust she builds and the compassion she shows make a lasting impact on the lives of our residents and their families. We are so thankful to have someone who pours so much heart into the work she does every single day.
