Annual award winners will receive $500 in professional conference support, funded through the Caduceus Society. The Caduceus Society is a physician leadership association that promotes providing the highest quality healthcare today and advancing the profession of medicine tomorrow through philanthropic support.

Celebrate Cancer Survivors Day with a Gift of Hope 💜🎗️

National Cancer Survivors Day, observed annually on the first Sunday in June, is a worldwide Celebration of Life that highlights resilience, strength and courage of those who have fought and continue to fight.

Throughout last week, cancer patients across Cape Fear Valley Health campuses came together for special Survivors Day events featuring food, flower bouquet making and fellowship. These gatherings provided an opportunity to reflect, connect and celebrate what matters most: their journey, resilience and incredible strength. Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation was honored to support these efforts.

Some of the ways Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation supports cancer patients and survivors:
- Educational materials
- Gas and transportation vouchers (in collaboration with the American Cancer Society)
- Financial assistance for housing and utilities
- Mammograms for uninsured individuals
- Wig vouchers for those who experience hair loss during treatment
- Medication assistance
- Comfort items such as hats, scarves and blankets
- Yoga
- Art Therapy (made possible through grant funding from the Arts Council of Fayetteville and the North Carolina Arts Council)
