This Healthy Aging Month, we’re sharing some encouraging news: aging well may be simpler than you think! Harvard researchers keep coming back to the same five habits:

🚶‍♀️ Stay active. Moving your body is essential, and everyday movement—like walking around your home—counts, too.
🥗 Choose whole foods. Focus on nourishing foods with enough protein and fiber to help keep you satisfied.
😴 Protect your sleep. Aim for seven to eight hours, along with a consistent wake-up time.
🧘‍♀️ Manage your stress. Stress that never switches off wears the body down over time.
💛 Stay connected. Most of us overlook this one, but it may be the habit that matters most.

Instead of quick fixes, these habits add up to a lifestyle built on self-care, real connection, and making your own well-being a priority. You probably already do some of this, so the work is less about starting over and more about staying consistent. Aging is a privilege rather than something to fear, and the care we give ourselves now is what makes those years feel better later on.

Not sure where to start? Choose the habit you struggle with most right now and build from there. Read the full article at the link below! 📖

This World Su***de Prevention Day, we want to talk about something breast cancer survivors don't always feel free to say out loud: finishing treatment doesn't always mean the hard part is over. Research on breast cancer survivors shows the emotional weight can stay long after the last treatment. It also shows that weight isn't shared evenly. Younger survivors, and those going through it without strong support at home, often face steeper mental health challenges in survivorship. If that's you, you are not alone and you are not doing this wrong. Tell someone. Your care team, your doctor, a friend. Support exists, and asking for it is a strong thing to do.

If you love a survivor, you don't need the perfect words. A real check-in and a willingness to listen go further than most people realize, and your support means more to them than you know. The 988 Su***de and Crisis Lifeline is available anytime. Call or text 988 for 24/7 support.

Did you know? According to Susan G. Komen, an increased duration of breastfeeding correlates with a greater reduction in breast cancer risk.

🟢 1 year total: a modest reduction in risk
🟢 2 years total: roughly double the benefit
🟢 2+ years total: the greatest protective effect

But breast health isn't defined by any one choice. Whether breastfeeding is part of your story or not, there are many ways to lower your risk, and our team is here to help you find what fits your life, through personalized risk assessments, lifestyle guidance, and early detection. We're with you, for your breast health, every step of the way.

Screening vs. diagnostic mammogram, what's the difference?

A screening mammogram is part of your routine care, a low-dose x-ray done every year before any signs or symptoms appear. It's one of the best tools we have for catching breast cancer early on, when treatment is most successful.

A diagnostic mammogram comes next if something needs a closer look, like a lump, breast pain, or a finding from your screening mammogram. It takes a bit longer than a screening, but you'll leave with answers and a clear follow-up plan that same day.

The Breast Center recommends annual screening mammograms starting at age 40. Ready to schedule yours? Tap the link below to learn more.

About 6% of all women with breast cancer carry a BRCA gene mutation, but that climbs to nearly 12% in women diagnosed before age 45. These mutations raise risk and show up more often in younger patients, which is why your family history matters at every age.

If breast cancer has touched your family, especially before 50, it may be worth a conversation about your risk.
