Not every recovery milestone is measured in days. 💜 Sometimes, it's rebuilding trust. Reconnecting with family. Being given a responsibility you haven't had in years. Or simply making a better choice for yourself day than you did yesterday.

Supporting someone through recovery doesn’t mean having all the answers. Sometimes, it starts with listening, leading with compassion and reminding them they’re not alone.

This Recovery Month, we’re sharing words from patients who chose to take that step - and what recovery has made possible in their lives.

What does treatment for opioid use disorder actually look like?

For someone considering treatment, knowing what to expect can make care feel more approachable. Treatment isn’t simply about addressing opioid use - it can include medications, counseling, individualized support and a team working alongside you.

During Recovery Month, we’re taking a closer look at what treatment at BHG can look like and how comprehensive care can support recovery.

Awareness starts with understanding.

It's National Opioid Awareness Day, and we're helping bring clarity to a topic that affects individuals, families and communities across the country.

The more we understand about opioids, the better equipped we are to challenge stigma, have informed conversations and connect people with support when they need it.

Recovery is stronger when communities come together. 🩵

Our Rhode Island team has been out in the community connecting with neighbors, local organizations and fellow behavioral health providers in support of recovery.

Recently, BHG Regional Outreach Manager Greg Graustein joined the inaugural Rally4Recovery Washington County in Kingston, a community celebration bringing people together around recovery, health, wellness and local resources.

He also joined Brandy Bates and American Addiction Centers/AdCare Hospital at a Recovery Event Day in Woonsocket - with a couple of four-legged friends making the day especially memorable. 🐐

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to build relationships, share resources and remind people that recovery is possible - and no one has to navigate it alone.

Thank you to the organizers, community partners and everyone who came out to celebrate recovery across Rhode Island.

For Tiffany and Caleb, love, encouragement and supporting one another have become meaningful parts of their recovery journeys.

This National Recovery Month, we're proud to share their story - a reminder of the strength found in connection, hope and having someone beside you along the way. ✨

Myths can fuel misconceptions and reinforce stigma — contributing to the overwhelming majority of people struggling with addiction who do not receive treatment. Fighting these myths is an important step in opening the door to recovery and a vital part of our mission to expand access to evidence-based care for all who need it.
