How hot is too hot for your baby? Dr. Singletary has a couple tips to help.

Newborns heat up faster than adults and cannot sweat efficiently yet, so summer warmth deserves a little extra attention. Two quick things our providers want every new parent to know.

Check the right spot. Hands and feet often feel cool even when your baby is plenty warm. Feel the back of the neck or the chest instead for a truer read.

Hold the water. Babies under six months get all the hydration they need from breast milk or formula. No water needed yet.

When in doubt, keep them in the shade, dress them in one light layer, and give us a call. Keeping your littlest one safe and cool is exactly what we are here for.

The back-to-school rush is closer than it feels, and the August calendar fills up fast.

Get ahead of it now. Fall sports physicals and well visits are the two appointments every family needs before the first bell, and booking early gives you more time slots to choose from. We accept TRICARE, offer same-day sick visits when summer throws a curveball, and make it easy to book online anytime.

Schedule at https://f.mtr.cool/bdknhutouj One less thing on the back-to-school list.

Summer sweat plus sports equals a breakout season for many teens, and our providers have a simple routine that actually helps.

Three steps: a gentle cleanser morning and night, an oil-free moisturizer with SPF in the morning, and washing face and body right after outdoor activities or sports.

It may sound simple, but if they're consistent, it works.

Happy birthday to three of the people who make Rainbow Pediatrics feel like home. Help us celebrate Nathalie, Melissa, and Tammy.

Nathalie is a weightlifter and recently hit a personal record of 863lbs on the leg press! 🤯
Tammy is an avid UNC and ECU fan, as her household is divided by her sons' college choices.
Melissa has officially been promoted to “Gigi” with the arrival of her first grandson.

Drop a birthday wish in the comments. They have earned it.

School is out (for the summer). Before the chaos gets too chaotic, our team put together a summer safety refresher that takes two minutes of your time.

This guide covers the stuff that actually trips parents up: why sunscreen needs to go on 15 minutes before you leave the house, the early warning signs of overheating in a North Carolina summer, and why a designated water watcher matters more than any floatie. Quick to read, easy to use all season.

June is Scoliosis Awareness Month, and our providers have an easy ask for Rainbow families.

While your child is in their swimsuit this summer, take 30 seconds to look at their back. Uneven shoulders, one shoulder blade more prominent than the other, or an uneven waistline are worth mentioning at your next visit.

Early detection matters. We are here when you need us.
