It’s been…ahh while. Lol.

What was supposed to be a short hiatus from social media turned into a several month clean break.

For me, personally, I’m either all in or all out. Almost 5 years sober and I still sometimes struggle with balance. Something I constantly preach as a therapist to my clients. The irony, I know. 🙄

But during my break from social media I have started to embrace my own style of balance. And it’s been in the form of:

-Spending as much time as possible with my supportive, sexy, devoted husband. You’re freaking hot. And I’ll never be able to get enough of you. Celebrating 5 years sober in November and 15 years of marriage in January, it doesn’t get any better than that. I love you .shooter

-Homeschooling my 7th grader, 8th grader, and Kindergartner (with the help of Stori Brooke, of course. As our only girl, she turned 4 in October & is in league of her own

-Expanding my therapy business and client base to work with couples and spouses by creating my own program, LSI. (More on that later)

-And one of my favorites.. making time for myself. Creating a self-care and work out routine that I have absolutely fallen in love with.

Now, I think it’s time to integrate myself back into social media. My inbox is full of messages filled with concern, love, and support. And so many people have reached out to me via text or email.
I cannot thank you guys enough. It means the absolute world to have friends that check in on you and your family.

I think I have missed that the most.

Sooo.. here we go! I’m looking forward to reconnecting with my OG’s and connecting with the new.

xo, Ash🤍

I had a client ask me last Friday how many days sober Roger and I were. I was completely honest with her and said I would have to look it up.

So I did. She then asked me if/when she would get to the point of not counting days. Again, I was honest with her and told her that I wasn’t sure.

Because it’s different for every single person. Some people count days, some weeks or months, others don’t count at all.

And that’s perfectly okay. However you decide to track or not track your recovery is okay. Do whatever keeps you accountable, motivated, and happy. There is no wrong way.

💋On another note- I have had SO many amazing friends reach out to check on me and my family. It’s been a couple of weeks since I have posted anything and I have spent the last 2 days trying to get caught up on messages.

If that’s not a perfect example of how caring and supportive this community is- I don’t know what is!

I have been extremely busy with my clients and therapy business. I am so blessed to be on this path of recovery and mental health healing with these wonderful people. I’m so grateful.

It’s also the end of the homeschool year for my two oldest boys. Coupled with my two toddlers… it’s been insane.

And most importantly, I have spent every single second I can with my husband. He has helped me wade through the busy schedules and chaos in so many ways.

In his arms is my safe place. In his presence is my calm. He reminds me that it’s okay to slow down and just “be.” .shooter

To everyone that has reached out- thank you. And if I haven’t responded yet, I will! 😊

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Your best is YOUR best.

It’s not going to look like anyone else’s.

It may not look or feel the same everyday.

What matters is that you try.

What matters is that you don’t give up.

Be where you are, as you are.

Keep going, you’ve got this! 💞

As I’m nearing the end of Tabitha’s book, I have started to “mark” sections of her book that I find extremely helpful and inspiring.

Chapters 9-11 are about approaching your life and mental health as if they are our job. And they are. Our mental health deserves just as much attention, evaluation, and consideration.

Protecting your energy, setting boundaries, learning how to undo the cycle of being a people pleaser is vital to our mental health.

Awareness is key.
Believing in yourself and your “why” is crucial.
Self-care is essential.

All of these things are up to us. And no one else gets to decide or dictate our choices.

✨If you can’t tell, I’m obsessed with this book. If you’re on the fence about getting it to read… get off the fence. This isn’t just about anxiety, it’s about finding your place and taking your power back. I will put the link for the book in my stories. And as always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

With love,

Happy Juice + Journaling🤍

After my last post about “Happy Juice” I had several people reach out and ask me about it.

Over the past 8 months I have been on a mental wellness journey and until recently, I have been pretty quiet about it.

There are several reasons for this but the main one is because I’m not big on promoting products, especially ones that I haven’t personally used.

Little by little I’m going to start sharing my experience and journey with my mental health & happy juice.

As a therapist and mental health advocate, I want to be as extremely transparent and honest as possible.

To start off… does it work? Yes. Is the “hype” and excitement accurate? Yes.

👉🏼If anyone has any questions or would like more insight on how I have implemented this into my life- please feel free to reach out. I’m not gonna ask you to drop an emoji or leave a comment below… send me a DM. I will answer or share anything you would like to know. 🤍

In other news, I’m almost done with “Anxiety, I’m Not Your Bitch.” By Tabitha Sampson and OMG… it’s amazing. I cannot wait to share more details and discuss it with Tabitha.

I hope everyone is having a lovely day!

▫️It’s okay to feel unstable.
▫️It’s okay to disassociate.
▫️It’s okay to hide from the world.
▫️It’s okay to not be okay.
▫️It’s okay to need help.

🌤️ Sometimes you have to rest and reset. Just remember that you are not alone. You don’t have to suffer in silence.

☀️Your mental illness does not define you. Your courage, determination, and resilience does.

Happy Juice + an awesome book!

I’m halfway through Tabitha’s book and it’s an absolute gem. I resonate with so much of her story.

A few things to note:

👉🏼There are different types of anxiety and discovering which one you suffer from is crucial to your healing process.

👉🏼It’s important to determine where your triggers come from. (This can be done in different ways but I have found that “Trigger Identification Work” {TIW}has worked best for myself and my clients.)

👉🏼There is a direct correlation between expectations and anxiety. As Tabitha explains in her book, not all expectations are created equal. I love how she breaks down the 3 tiers of expectations.

Chapter 6 starts off with- “I spent too many years trying to be a people pleaser.”

Familiar? Hell, yes.

✨Swipe to see one of my favorite quotes from her book. Ironically, it was on the first damn page.

💌If you would like more information on Tabitha’s book, TIW, or happy juice .(which also helps with anxiety 😍)shoot me a DM.

Here’s to a lovely weekend!
