Christopher Michael Nelson, 48, of Fayetteville, AR was united with Jesus on Monday, August 17, 2026. Chris courageously lived with ALS for three years, meeting each day with determination, hope and unwavering strength.

Chris was born June 20, 1978 to Terrie Feagin and Michael Nelson. He graduated from Springdale High School and went on to earn both his bachelor’s degree and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. He was also a Certified Public Accountant. Throughout his accomplished career, he held several financial leadership positions, including serving as CEO of Reliable Poultry and as Director of Finance for Raw Poultry at Tyson Foods. Chris was a faithful member of his church, Fellowship Fayetteville, where he regularly attended and served.

Chris was an incredible dad to Jake, Claire and Molly. He and his wife, Anna, shared 23 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and laughter. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind his mother, Terrie Feagin Harvey of Springdale and his father, Michael Nelson of Huntsville. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and a favorite amongst his aunts, uncles and cousins. He shared a special bond with his longtime friend group, “The Posse” as well as many other friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles Dean Feagin and his beloved “Mamie”, Winona Feagin of Springdale and Bearl Nelson and Nancy Nelson of Huntsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a college savings fund for his children via Zelle using [email protected] or visit any United Bank in Northwest Arkansas.

A celebration of Chris’s life will be held on Monday, August 24, at 11:00am at Fellowship Fayetteville, 3447 N Highway 112, Fayetteville, AR. In honor of Chris, the family asks that guests wear white to the service. Chris wanted his life to be celebrated with joy not sorrow.

Judith “Judi” Blanchard, 79, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on August 4, 2026.

Born in New York, Judi lived a life marked by service, faith, generosity, and a commitment to helping others. She proudly served her country as a Private in the United States Marine Corps. Her service to veterans, however, did not end when she left the Marines.

Judi spent her professional career with the Department of Veterans Affairs, helping fellow veterans secure the benefits they had earned through their service. For Judi, it was more than a career—it was a continuation of a lifetime of service.

Judi was someone you remembered. She was funny, talkative, outspoken, and fiercely independent. Beneath that strong personality was a generous person who readily gave her time and help to others.

Her faith was deeply important to her throughout her life. She also had a special love for German and Belgian Shepherds and found great joy in training and caring for her dogs.

Judi was preceded in death by her father, Lee Winkler, and her mother, Vivian Distasio Winkler.

She is survived by her sister, Joan Dillon, brother in law Darrell Dillon, and her nephew, John Dillon.

Judi leaves behind a legacy of service—to her country, to her fellow veterans, to her family, and to the many people she helped throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Turvey, 82, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Sandy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and warm smile left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She was a mother to five children; Jeff Turvey (Cathy), Laurie Riley, Becky Owens (Greg), Debra Sapp (Buddy), & Rick Turvey (Kathy).

She was a proud grandmother to Robby Bland (Kristen), Kristie Linsday (Eddie), Holly Sapp (Troy), Eric Turvey (Stephanie), Danielle Morris (Brad), Steven Sapp, Cameron Aulerich (Melanie), Aaron Aulerich, Courtney Owens, Katie Anderson (Matt), Garrett Owens (De’Lanie), and Diana Turvey. She was also blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren: Chevelle, Jasmine, Rene, Jaren, Bryson, Ryland, Bryce, Brenden, Braxton, Alyssa, Melyssa, Luca, Ella, Vayda, Magnolia, and Jedsen.

Sandy’s creative ingenuity, resourcefulness, infectious smile, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19th, from 2-4pm at 1699 N. Starr Road, Fayetteville, AR 72701.

Marvin Eugene Freeman, 83, of Elkins passed to his eternal home on May 22nd at WRMC, Fayetteville, AR surrounded by family. He was born November 5, 1942 in Crowder, Missouri to J.C. Freeman and Beulah “Wise” Freeman.

Marvin was a life-long resident of the Northwest Arkansas, Quad Cities Iowa, and Southwest Missouri areas. He worked for many years in the area of maintenance for various organizations including Withrow Springs State Park in Huntsville, and retired in 2000 from Ron’s Mobile Homes Parts Store in Bethel Heights. Marvin loved fishing, hunting, and gardening, but his greatest joys were serving the Lord and loving his family.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Charles “Sonny” Freeman, Harold “Wayne” Freeman, John “Jack” Freeman, and Glen Freeman; and one granddaughter, Courtney Nicole “Bell” Barron.

He is survived by his wife, Dora L. “LoVell” Freeman of Elkins; one daughter, Yvonne “Young” Rogers (Dakota) of Fayetteville; one son, Donald L. Hawley of Fayetteville; six grandchildren: Ashley Young (Robert Bolner) of Centerton, and Harper, Haddie, Haisley, Charlotte, and Caroline Hawley of Bixby, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren: Koston and Kaiser Seay of Tontitown; and one sister, Dora “Freeman” Davis (Etsel) of Greenfield, Indiana.

A celebration of Marvin’s life will be at Baldwin Baptist Church, 5217 E. Huntsville Rd. Fayetteville, AR 72701 to be announced later.

Cobie Nehemiah Turley, 33, of Winslow passed away April 4 in Fayetteville. He was born December 21, 1992 in Winslow to Dennis and Ava (Basler) Turley.

Cobie was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas with the exception of a few years away. He loved art and music, and was very talented. He also enjoyed swimming and camping at the river, going to church, and spending time with his family.

Cobie is survived by his parents who still live in Winslow; one brother, Joshua Turley of Winslow; one sister, Ashley Osburn of Fayetteville; and five nieces and nephews: Kadin Osburn, Kieara Osburn, Kenzie Griffin, Rinzler Turley, and Brinn Turley.

A celebration of Cobie’s life will be announced at a later date.

Vickie Ann Wadel, age 65, died Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Northwest Medical Center located in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born April 28, 1960 in Stafford, Arizona the daughter of Shirley Edgar and Roy Plumley.

She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, spending time in the outdoors especially camping, and time with her fur babies were very special to her. She was a very talented artist and writer.

Vickie was very adamant when it came to standing up for what she thought was right and her beliefs. She loved spending time with her great-granddaughter Zaylee and especially their ice cream dates.

She was preceded in death by: her mother; Shirley Plumley, one son; Shane Reynolds, her grandmother; Vera Edgar, and her grandfather; Eddie Edgar.

Vickie is survived by: two daughters; Tonya Reynolds, of Texas, Stephanie Perez and her husband David, of Arkansas, five grandchildren; Taylor Reynolds, Zoe Reynolds, Braden Reynolds, Katalina Perez, Ally Dalton, and four great-grandchildren; Zaylee Ishmael, Jiraiah Reynolds, Erin Reynolds, and Rin Reynolds, one brother; Russel Plumley, of Arkansas, one sister; Teri Livermore, of Arkansas, one niece; Tricha Donahey and her husband Kent, of Arkansas, two great-nieces; Whitney and Kensie, her nephew; Justin Burkes and his wife Vanessa, one great-nephew; Caleb Burkes, one great-niece; Kaylee Wall, one nephew; Matthew Livermore, of Arkansas, and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10am until service time at Christ and Neighbor Church located at 1211 Hudson Road in Rogers. A celebration of Vickie’s life will begin at 11am on Tuesday, with Pastor Scott Pagie officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery located in Fayetteville.

Pallbearers will be: Russel Plumley, Taylor Reynolds, Kent Donahey, Justin Burkes, David Perez and Michael Dalton.

Honorary Pallbearers: Braden Reynolds, Mathew Livermore, Israel Ishmael, and Caleb Burkes.

Denise "Nan" Veteto, age 63 of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed peacefully on Thursday, March 26th after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on February 6th, 1963 in Oceanside, California, Nan was the daughter of Shirley and Lee Veteto. She grew up on Marine Corp bases, including Karachi, Pakistan, eventually returning to her family's roots in Paragould, Arkansas where she graduated High-School.

As a stay-at-home mother, many days were devoted to nurturing and protecting her children. Her favorite songs and artwork filled their home. A free spirit at heart, she was often drawn beyond the rhythms of home life, seeking adventure and connection. The pull of waves and flowing water resonated with her and she found a sense of peace exploring creeks, swimming in lakes, floating rivers, and lying on beaches. She will be most remembered for her humor, resilience, and enduring kindness.

Proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, son Jesse Gibson, and nephew Joshua Veteto.

Nan is survived by her daughter Sarah Gibson Peace (Husband Marc and sons William, Ryan, & Thomas); daughter Anna Gibson (Partner Morgan Box and his son Lance); son Lonnie Easley; grandsons Aiden & Emmett Gibson; brother Mike Veteto (Wife Glenda), nieces Christina Harrison & Tammarian Rodriguez; and many loving aunts and cousins.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 31st at 3:30pm at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 1728 E. Mission Blvd, Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The family would like to express thanks for the wonderful care provided by Edgewood Health & Rehabilitation Center and Circle of Life Hospice.

Hansel Dale Hill, age 73, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas died Saturday, March 7, 2026 at his residence. He was born May 10, 1952 in Fayetteville, Arkansas the son of Susie Kathleen Cook and Hugh Hollis Hill.

He was a brick mason for many years. He loved fishing, and spending quality time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, four brothers; Donnie Hill, Hollis Hill, Douglas Hill, Leon Hill, and three sisters; Yvonne Brown, Gail Boyd, and Beverly Hill.

Hansel is survived by: two sons; Michael Hill and his wife Trista, of Evansville, Arkansas, James Vanover, of Cincinnati, Arkansas, one daughter; Crystal Morris, of Cincinnati, Arkansas, one brother; Rawleigh Hill and his wife Jean, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, one sister; Sue Doss, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, six grandchildren; Mckell Lyons and husband Trenton of Colcord Oklahoma, Dara Long and husband RJ of Westville Oklahoma, Emily Morris of Westville Oklahoma, Tristan Sylvester and wife Jessica of Evansville Arkansas, Caleb Hill and wife Victoria of Farmington Arkansas, and Nicole Hill of Fayetteville Arkansas and nine great-grandchildren; Sadie and Eden Lyons of Colcord Oklahoma, Huxley and Hendrix Long of Westville Oklahoma, Morgan, William, Taylor, and Emma Sylvester of Evansville Arkansas and Madison Hill of Farmington Arkansas.

Graveside service will be Friday, March 13, 2026 at 11am at Mt. Comfort Cemetery located in Fayetteville with Pastor Danny Beard officiating.

Linda VandenHouten, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2026, surrounded by two of her precious granddaughters.

Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother whose family meant everything to her.

She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always offering love, encouragement, and a warm presence to those around her.

Linda was a self-taught artist with many creative abilities. She especially enjoyed sketching and had a natural artistic talent that she expressed in many ways. She also loved gardening and
sewing, finding peace and fulfillment in creating and nurturing beauty in the world around her. Her creativity, patience, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.

Those who knew Linda will remember her kindness, her willingness to listen, and her ability to make others feel welcome and valued. Her compassion, strength, and creativity left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Anthony Mercado and Bertha Knosp.

She is survived by her children, Samantha Nieders (Jim), Lydia Brown (Don), and Tony VandenHouten; her grandchildren, Corey Mehl (Crystal), Ashley West (Jordan), Kristyn Brantley (Chris), and Sarah Nelson (Dakotah); her great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Preston, and Mayse; her significant other, Jerry Merchant; and seven siblings.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda’s life on March 28, 2026, at 11am, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, 716 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Monroe, Louisiana 71203.
