Saving Lives Locally Welcome to the Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center’s page!

We are a Non-Profit, Community-Based Blood Center that supplies Cape Fear Valley Health’s patients with blood products, thanks to our compassionate blood donors. Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center was originally named The Blood Assurance Plan when it was initiated to Cumberland County in 1963. The plan offered citizens of the area an opportunity to be of service both to themselves and to the comm

unity. Although we had been the sole provider of blood to the hospital, we officially became a part of Cape Fear Valley Health in 1994.

On August 1, Cape Fear Valley Health Blood Donor Center is transitioning to The Blood Connection (TBC) and will be known as the Fayetteville Community Blood Center. While the name changes, our mission remains the same: empowering our community to save lives through blood donation.

This partnership allows us to focus on exceptional patient care while TBC dedicates its resources to recruiting donors and maintaining a safe blood supply. With 64 years of experience in the Southeast, TBC enhances our ability to meet patient needs.

Cape Fear Valley Health joins over 145 healthcare partners across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia in relying on TBC for blood products. Together, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of our neighbors. Thank you for your continued support!

Due to inclement weather and road conditions, the Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center will open today at noon and remain open until 5:00 PM.

Your safety is our top priority. Please take extra caution when traveling and only come in if you feel comfortable doing so. If road conditions in your area are unsafe, we encourage you to stay home and remain safe.
