The providers and staff at Pat Walker Health Center and CAPS spent the morning walking in the shoes of an international student during the interactive workshop, “ACIREMA” (America spelled backwards).

During the simulation, participants experienced some of the immigration, pre-arrival and transition challenges international students may face on their journey to the University of Arkansas.

We are grateful to the Office of International Students and Scholars (ISS), as well as the volunteers and panelists who coordinated the event and shared their personal experiences. Thank you for helping us better understand and support our international student community.

Joining Battjes on the tour was Assistant Vice Chancellor in the Division of Student Affairs Erin Butler and Assistant to Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Well-Being Kristen McAllister. Thank you to everyone who took part in the conversation.
