✨ Meet Emma Aspinwall, M.S., LAMFT! ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Emma to Aligned Living! Emma is such a valuable addition to our team, bringing a relationship-focused perspective and specialized training in working with both individuals and couples.

Emma works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the everyday stressors that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns we don’t quite know how to change.

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Emma helps clients look beyond what’s happening on the surface to better understand their emotions, needs, and the patterns shaping how they relate to themselves and others. Her work is rooted in the belief that feeling truly seen, heard, and understood can be an important part of creating meaningful change.

Emma may be a great fit for you if you’re:
🤍 Feeling stuck in the same relationship patterns
🤍 Struggling to communicate or feel connected to your partner
🤍 Navigating anxiety, depression, grief, or a major life transition
🤍 Wanting to better understand your emotions and reactions
🤍 Adjusting to a new season of life and having a harder time than expected
🤍 Looking for a therapist who is warm, compassionate, and relationship-focused

Whether you’re coming to therapy individually or with your partner, Emma creates a space to slow down, understand what’s really happening underneath the struggle, and begin building healthier patterns and more fulfilling connections.

Emma will begin seeing clients October 1st and will offer both in-person sessions in Fayetteville and teletherapy. We’re currently connecting new clients with her!

To the incoming Razorbacks and the parents sending them off...❤️

The first few weeks of college can be exciting, but they can also be overwhelming. Once move-in is over and everyone heads home, it's normal for the emotions to settle in.

A few reminders for students:

• Feeling homesick doesn't mean you made the wrong decision. It means you're adjusting to a big life change.

• Introduce yourself first. The person sitting next to you in class or down the hall is probably hoping someone else makes the first move.

• Keep a routine. Sleep, regular meals, movement, and time outside can make a bigger difference than most students realize.

• Don't wait until you're overwhelmed to ask for help. Whether it's a professor, advisor, RA, tutor, or counselor, there are people who genuinely want to help.

• Remember that social media isn't real life. Many students who seem like they're thriving are feeling just as uncertain as you are.

For parents:

Your child may call one day wanting to come home and then text you the next day saying they had a great time with new friends. That's a normal part of the adjustment process.

Try to listen more than you fix. Remind them that it's okay for this season to feel uncomfortable. Growth usually is.

And give yourself some grace, too. Watching your child become more independent is a transition for parents as well. It's okay if you're adjusting right alongside them.

The first month of college is rarely perfect. Friendships take time. Confidence takes time. Feeling at home takes time.

If you or your student could use a little extra support during the transition, our team at Aligned Living Counseling & Coaching is here to help. We work with adolescents, college students, young adults, and parents navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and all the emotions that come with this new season.

Our Fayetteville office is located about 10 minutes from the University of Arkansas campus. For students without a car, Razorback Transit Route 26 stops at Millsap & Plainview, less than a block from our office, making it easy to get to appointments. We also offer virtual therapy anywhere in Arkansas.

We're Growing 🌿

Aligned Living Counseling & Coaching is looking to add a compassionate, relationship-focused LPC, LMFT, or LCSW to our team.

We're more than a traditional private practice. We believe healing happens when we care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and we encourage clinicians to bring their unique strengths into the therapy room. Whether that's attachment work, trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, expressive approaches, outdoor therapy, or other evidence-based modalities, we value authenticity, collaboration, and continued growth.

If you're looking for a practice where you can:
✨ Build meaningful relationships with clients
✨ Work alongside a supportive, collaborative team
✨ Enjoy flexibility and autonomy in your schedule
✨ Practice from a holistic, values-driven perspective
✨ Focus on quality care while we handle the administrative support
..we'd love to connect.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

The construction industry knows a lot about safety. Hard hats. Harnesses. Training. Protocols.

Today, some of our team had the opportunity to speak with the superintendents at Nabholz Construction about another type of safety that deserves just as much attention: mental health.

Su***de continues to impact thousands of families, workplaces, and communities every year. The more we normalize conversations about mental health, the more lives we have the potential to impact.

Grateful to Nabholz for investing in their people and for helping break the stigma around mental health and su***de.

Because taking care of your people goes beyond the job site.

Becoming a parent can shift everything-your identity, your relationships, your nervous system.

And for a lot of women, it’s not talked about honestly.

Anxiety. Disconnection. Rage. Guilt.
Feeling like you “should” be happier than you are.

If that’s been your experience, you’re not doing it wrong.
You’re human, and you deserve support through it.

That’s why having a clinician specifically trained in perinatal mental health matters.

Caitlin is a licensed therapist and certified in treating:
• Postpartum depression & anxiety
• Birth trauma
• Identity and relationship shifts
• Emotional overwhelm in pregnancy & postpartum

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

Not all therapy is trained for pregnancy + postpartum.

That’s why this matters 👇

Our very own Caitlin Lachney just earned her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C)- a huge milestone that means specialized support for women navigating:
postpartum depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, identity shifts, and the emotional weight no one really prepares you for.

If this season has felt heavier than expected, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to push through it by yourself.

So proud of you, Caitlin! This is big for so many women. 🤍
