Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks serves Veterans in OK, AR, and MO since 1934.

In addition to the Medical Center located in Fayetteville, AR, VHSO also has seven Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The clinics are located in Fort Smith, Harrison and Ozark, Arkansas; Branson, Joplin, and Springfield Missouri; and Jay, Oklahoma.

Since its establishment on Aug. 29, 1916, Marine Corps Reservists have served with honor in every major conflict—from World War I to today’s global missions—while continuing to strengthen communities through service at home.

Red Coat Ambassadors help welcome Veterans, answer questions, and guide them through the facility. At the Cincinnati VAMC, Tracy Julius supported Veterans as the facility began using the Federal Electronic Health Record in June.

Scams Can Target Veterans — Stay One Step Ahead

Your service earned you benefits. It should never make you a target. About 27% of Veterans say they’ve lost money to a scam, and roughly 86% have encountered scams specifically designed to target Veterans using military themes or promises involving VA benefits.

Protect yourself by remembering:
• Never provide personal or financial information to an unsolicited caller.
• Be cautious of anyone creating pressure or demanding immediate action to “secure” your benefits.
• Verify VA information using official VA websites and phone numbers.
• If something doesn’t feel right, stop and verify before acting.

VA’s VSAFE program helps Veterans and survivors recognize and report scams. Call 1-833-38V-SAFE for assistance. You can also report fraud to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov or the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov.

For more than a century, the National Park Service has protected America’s most treasured landscapes and historic places for future generations. Established on Aug. 25, 1916, the National Park Service united the care of our nation’s parks under one mission: to preserve them for everyone to enjoy.

Veterans have been part of that mission from the very beginning. Before the National Park Service was created, U.S. Army troops helped protect and develop many of our earliest national parks. Today, Veterans continue that legacy as park rangers, resource managers, emergency responders and public servants, using the leadership and skills they gained in military service to safeguard America’s natural and cultural heritage.

As we celebrate the National Park Service, Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks thanks all Veterans who have helped preserve the places that tell our nation’s story—and continue to inspire generations to come.
