“I forgot” does not always mean “I did not care.” “I need to leave” does not mean “I do not love you.” “Please say it again” does not mean “I was ignoring you.” “I cannot do it today” does not mean “I will never do it.” Translation creates compassion.

A concussion is a brain injury. Someone may look fine while experiencing headaches, dizziness, memory changes, slowed thinking, emotional changes, sleep disruption, light sensitivity, or noise sensitivity. Every concussion deserves to be taken seriously. Today we listen to survivors, teach families what to watch for, and encourage appropriate medical care and support.

Needing accommodations is not asking for special treatment. It is asking for access. Depending on the setting and individual circumstances, support may include written instructions, reduced distractions, additional processing time, rest breaks, adjusted workload, or schedule flexibility. Learn your options and document what your brain needs.

In the same school day, a child may be fighting a headache, a parent may be advocating for accommodations, a teacher may be noticing slower work, a sibling may feel confused, and the family may be exhausted from explaining the injury.

A shared plan reduces blame and gives everyone the same support language.

Romans 15:13 calls our Lord the God of hope, and Psalm 42:11 shows us that we can speak hope to a discouraged soul. Perhaps you have been overlooked, mishandled, misunderstood, rejected, or abandoned. ABBA sees what others have missed.

He sees the survivor trying to remember, the caregiver crying in private, the veteran carrying invisible wounds, the child who cannot explain, and the grandparent quietly holding a family together.

We thank God for Jesus Christ of Nazareth and for the Holy Spirit, who brings comfort and reveals that our God-given gifts were not destroyed.

𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿: God of hope, meet every person who feels alone or weary. Fill them with Your peace and send safe, compassionate people to walk beside them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“I am not trying to be difficult. The noise hurts. The work takes longer now. I forget what you just said. I get angry when I cannot explain what is happening. Please slow down, use
fewer words, and give my brain a quiet place.”

Behavior is communication. Children need support before punishment.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember those who died, those who served, those who survived, and the families who continue carrying the effects of that day.

We honor our veterans, first responders, caregivers, and all who live with visible and invisible wounds.

Today is a day we should never overlook.

We remember the fallen heroes of September 11, 2001—the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, passengers, crews, and everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage and made unimaginable sacrifices.

We honor those who ran toward danger to protect others, and we remember the families whose lives were forever changed.

May we never take for granted the freedoms we have in this beautiful country. May we stand united as Americans, protect the values of freedom and liberty, and always remember the courage, patriotism, and sacrifice shown on that day.

To every fallen hero of 9/11: we salute you, we honor you, and we will never forget you.

🇺🇸 God Bless America. Never Forget. 9/11/2001. 🇺🇸
