This week, we celebrate black families, breastfeeding parents, lactation professionals, advocates, and community members who continue to show up with care, support, and love.

This year’s theme, “We All We Got: 14 Years of Community, Care, and Collective Power,” is a beautiful reminder that breastfeeding doesn’t happen in isolation. It takes a village. 💜

At LATCH, we believe every family deserves access to compassionate, affirming, culturally responsive lactation support and that every parent should feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout their feeding journey.

This week is Military Lactation Celebration Week! We’re celebrating the incredible military families who navigate breastfeeding and infant feeding while serving, moving, deploying, transitioning, and building community wherever the military takes them. 💙

The 2026 theme is “Mission Ready Begins at Home.”

As part of National Breastfeeding Month, the Global Military Lactation Community is hosting a three-day celebration for U.S. military families around the world, August 22–24.

At LATCH, we’re proud to support military families in their feeding journeys and recognize the unique challenges and incredible strength that come with breastfeeding in the military community. 🤱🏼

Because supporting the mission also means supporting the families behind it!🫶

As a mother, I know how easy it is for a heartbreaking case to become yesterday’s news once the courtroom doors close and the headlines move on, but the conversations it brings up should never disappear with it. Maternal mental health is something I wish we could talk about without mothers feeling ashamed, judged, or afraid to admit when they are struggling. There are so many women carrying exhaustion, anxiety, isolation, intrusive thoughts, and emotions they don’t know how to explain, often while still trying to smile and take care of everyone around them. I hope we keep listening, keep checking on new mothers, and keep making it safer for moms to say they need help, because behind every statistic is a mother who deserves compassion and support before she reaches a breaking point. 🖤
