❤️ **How VariYoga Teacher Training Changed My Life**

Yoga had been an important part of my life for many years before I ever considered becoming a teacher. I already loved the practice and the difference it made in my life, but I had no idea how much more there was to discover!

When I signed up for my 200-hour VariYoga Teacher Training at Arkansas Yoga & Therapy Center, I wasn't even sure I would become a yoga teacher! Speaking in front of groups has never come naturally to me.

But something wonderful happened. I learned so much, felt so prepared, and became so excited about what yoga could offer others that I simply couldn't keep it to myself. I had to share!

What I love most about yoga goes far beyond flexibility and strength. It's learning to listen to your body, trust yourself, breathe through challenges, and carry that awareness and steadiness into everyday life.

And that's exactly why VariYoga means so much to me.

VariYoga recognizes that every person is unique. It's designed to be safe, accessible, sustainable, and adaptable. We use props, offer variations, and honor individual differences. Yoga doesn't have to look the same for everyone to be meaningful and beneficial.

My teacher training didn't just prepare me to teach poses. It gave me the confidence and knowledge to share something I truly believe can make a difference in people's lives. And along the way, it changed mine.

Friendly reminder 💛 We’re often told we should be doing more, giving more, working harder, and taking care of everyone else, always more.

But caring for yourself first isn’t selfish. It’s how you become capable of showing up for your family, your community, your work, and the things that matter most to you.

When we don’t take time to rest and restore, we burn out. When we’re burned out, we have very little left to give.

This is where yoga has been so meaningful for me. Through yoga you learn how to listen to your body, calm your mind, and move through life with more clarity and steadiness.

At the same time, we’re caring for our physical health, building strength, flexibility, confidence, and long-term resilience.

Caring for yourself isn’t selfish. It’s the foundation for everything else.

I want to support healthy, sustainable movement and help you feel more comfortable and confident in your body.

Just in case you’re curious or cautious yoga is for every body, every mind, and people of every faith, or no faith at all. 🧘‍♀️💛

From my perspective as a yoga instructor and student yoga can strengthen your body, calm your mind, and support your wellbeing, without changing what you believe or asking you to leave your faith behind.

Yoga has been an important part of calming my own anxiety and learning to feel safe and grounded after trauma. It has given me strength, balance, flexibility, mobility and a healthier body.

Balance isn’t just about holding Tree Pose without wobbling. It’s part of what keeps us confident, capable, and doing the things we love as the years roll on.

I just came across this photo of Dolly Parton doing yoga with her teacher, Larry Payne.

After a sweet little moment of reflection, my immediate thought was…

Of course Dolly was a yogi.

And I don’t mean simply because of how she looks, her flexibility, or whether she ever rolled out a yoga mat.

I mean the way she has lived her life.

There is something deeply yogic about staying rooted in who you are while living in a world that constantly tries to tell you who to be.

About knowing your worth without needing to diminish yourself or someone else.

About finding joy, sharing what you have, lifting others up, laughing at yourself, working hard, loving deeply, giving generously, and continuing to show up as you through every season of life.

Yoga, to me, has never just been about putting your body into a shape.

It is a practice of coming home to yourself.

Of learning how to hold both strength and softness.

Of staying connected to your center when life gets loud.

Of recognizing that we are all connected and allowing that awareness to shape how we move through the world.

And somehow, when I think about Dolly Parton, I think…

Yep. Of course she was a yogi. 🧘🏼‍♀️✨💗

Maybe some of the most beautiful expressions of yoga aren’t always found in a studio.

Maybe sometimes they look like a woman with big hair, rhinestones, an enormous heart, and a lifetime spent reminding people that there is plenty of room in this world for us all to shine.✨

You don’t have to be completely burned out to need a break.

Sometimes the signs are quieter.

Everything feels like a little too much.
Your patience is a little too short.
You’re tired, but you keep pushing anyway.
