Thank you to everyone who contributed to our team and came out to walk at The Parkinson Council Walk to Stamp Out Parkinson's this Saturday. It was a beautiful day and a terrific event! We were so thankful to be a part of it.

Wow! So much great information shared this Saturday at our 2026 Parkinson's Information Summit.

We got to hear from Joe Hand and Kelly Gasper. Then Dr. Lee Kubersky and Dr. Cathy Bykowski tackled some tough topics on non-motor symptoms of PD: anxiety, depression, apathy, and sleep issues.

The floor was open for over 45 minutes for questions answered by Dr. Bykowski, Dr. Kubserky and Kelly Gasper, PT.

We got to hear from two brave and motivated individuals in our program who have PD. They shared their strategies on how they battle anxiety, apathy and depression on a daily basis.

Finally, we got to hear about a newer medication option.

Participants got to mingle. Everyone got some laughs.

Even though we all know how important it is to exercise to battle Parkinson's Disease, depression, anxiety, and lack of motivation can get in the way. The goal of this session was to help individuals better understand some of these non-motor symptoms and understand some strategies and options to manage them.

The Parkinson’s The Parkinson Council will be hosting their annual Walk to Stamp Out Parkinson’s at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The Parkinson’s Council has been a generous supporter of the Joe Hand Gym Parkinson's exercise classes through grant funding, helping us continue to serve individuals like you, keeping the cost of classes low.

Joanne Figueroa and I will be attending the walk. Parking is fairly easy and the walk is less than 1 mile. Please join our team and walk with us if you are able!
