These photos were taken at her first visit and then after her 11th year of regular treatments by me. She comes in only once or twice a year and appreciates the subtle changes I provide.

I am pleasantly surprised by the longevity of these treatments. When she comes in we are not starting from scratch, instead I am restoring prior gains without making her look over done.

NATURAL LOOKING LIP ENHANCEMENT 8-11-26 - Dr. Hal London

What’s worse than having thin lips? Jacked up, friggin’wierd looking, over-filled lips. Yes, we’ve all seen them: over filled, asymmetric, and unnatural looking lips. Sad part is they have been convinced by their ” injector” that they look good and their money was well spent. Meanwhile, people are talking behind their backs, laughing, and trying to find out who they went to so they can avoid that practitioner for themselves.

I stay busy all week long fixing filler problems from other “ injectors” right here on Amelia Island. There are now med spas popping up all over run by nurses(not doctors) with minimal oversight by physicians. This is achieved by paying a physician “ Medical Director” a monthly stipend to “be available”
for problems or consult. This physician might be a psychiatrist or a pediatrician who knows nothing about aethetics or their complications. Additionally, the physicians should be on-site but are NOT in most cases. It’s a bit of scam and if scrutinized might be a violation of Florida law. In fact, I’ve been approached multiple times to act as a physician medical director for Jacksonville med spas and laser centers. My answer has always been a big NO, thank you.

Be careful who you choose for your aesthetic treatments.

BEFORE AND AFTER MID AND LOWER FACE TREATMENT- Dr. Hal London

These unfiltered photos are of my patient before and two weeks after her treatments.

Notice the softening of the nasolabial folds/marionette lines and improvement of the perioral etched lines.

HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING YOUR SUMMER- Dr. Hal London

Time is my most precious commodity. I can’t make more of it and I can’t buy it. It’s summer and every year, for three months, I limit my appointment schedule and enjoy my time off. I’m still seeing patients but only a few days a week for a few hours a day. My apologies if it has been a struggle to get in to see me, but I will make every attempt to accommodate you when you call.

EARLOBES- Dr. Hal London

Earlobes age along with the rest of the face. Look at the earlobes of any elderly man or woman and notice the changes. Thinning, lengthening, and creasing are common findings in older ears. Enhancement of earlobes is a simple way I take years off your face safely and immediately.

Earlobes are made of soft tissue with no firm structural support. They lack the cartilage of other parts of the ear and are therefore more susceptible to trauma, such as your 2-year-old grabbing your hoop earring and tearing it, or trauma from wearing too heavy earrings for prolonged periods. Sleeping in earrings is also not advised. Repair of a torn or stretched earlobe piercing is a quick procedure done in my office.

Minor surgeries like this one keep me busy and they are actually kind of fun. How do your ears look?

It is a 20 billion dollar industry, about as big as the NFL, and the person injecting your face might have trained for a single weekend. No medical license. No malpractice insurance. Nothing to lose if it goes wrong.

Kate Dee, MD is a board certified breast radiologist who runs a med spa in the Seattle area and wrote Med Spa Mayhem about what she has watched happen to her own industry.

Here is the part nobody tells you. Aesthetics exploded so fast that the rules never caught up. There are weekend courses all over the country that will teach an unlicensed person how to inject Botox, then promise to find them a medical director on paper so they can order product. The "director" might be an anesthesiologist who works in a hospital a hundred miles away and has never set foot in the building. The person is now practicing medicine on your face, completely on their own, and it is illegal in every state.

And almost nothing happens to them. Last year people in 11 different states ended up in the hospital from fake Botox ordered off the internet. When a patient does get hurt, the answer she keeps hearing from prosecutors is that you walked in there of your own free will, so what did you expect. There is no malpractice case to bring, because there is no license and no insurance and no money.

To be clear, a legitimate physician run med spa is a genuinely good thing. Most physicians will not risk a license they spent a decade earning. The danger is the operators nobody is policing.

So before anyone injects anything into you, ask three questions. Who exactly is treating me, and what is their license, and look it up. Who is the medical director, and can I actually get an appointment with them. And did a qualified person do a real exam before reaching for a needle.

Kate put it this way:

"If you don't have a license, you don't have one to lose."

LIP ENHANCEMENT 6-16-26 Dr. Hal London

A nice example of lip enhancement immediately after her treatment. Mild swelling is present but this will subside in a couple days.

Filler lasts longer than we once thought. Lip filler is often still present a year or more after treatment. This is an important point when patients return wanting more lip filler in 6 months.

I spend a good amount of time per week trying to convince patients what they don’t need and what NOT to do. That’s the difference between a doctor who does it for the art and passion vs. one who is business to generate income.
