Home Health can only expect payment after 30 days of care and there is also a mandatory 14 day payment hold for all HH claims. No other setting is expected to self fund care for up to 45 days. Private equity funding stepped into the void and and have been funding this payment delay. It has fundamentally changed Home Health. Make sure to comment on the 2027HH PPS Proposed Rule and feel free to mention the above hardship. Deadline is 8/31/26.

It is important to deploy your care in a focused team effort to attain realistic profitability. This practice has not made sense from the beginning of PPS in Home Health. Since the beginning of PDGM in 2020, this practice is borderline ridiculous. Why is it still common practice? We have ideas, but would love feedback.
