How this little filly is even alive is beyond me.

For weeks, trail cameras on the reservation caught her slipping into a catch pen at night, looking for salt.

No mama. No herd. No protection.

Just a baby trying to survive on her own.

There are wild dogs in that area that are known to take down horses, and somehow this little girl kept making it through another night… and another.
She kept coming back to that catch pen until tribal members were finally able to get her safely caught.

And we are so incredibly thankful they thought of us and reached out to help her.
Today, we are anxiously awaiting her arrival at Central Oregon Equine Rescue. ❤️‍🩹

My vet has already been called and her place is ready.

I’ve had horses come in worse physical condition, but this one hits differently......

She is just a baby.
A baby who should have had a mama beside her and a herd around her.

Instead, she had herself.
And somehow, she survived.

Tonight there will be no sneaking into a catch pen in the dark looking for salt.
No more facing the night alone.
She’s coming home.
And we cannot wait to meet her. ❤️🐴

The best thing you can do for your family’s food needs is to support your local regenerative farmer. We purchase our meat directly from Faithful friends farm! Laws know you cannot trust anything sold in a “grocery store.” Good news for you! They still have a few spots available for their 3 month CSA!

If you love our chicken and other products we are still taking signups for our 3 month CSA, but I will only be taking sign ups for another week or so.

Each month (4 to 5 weeks) for 3 months you will receive a beautiful package of our farm raised, pasture raised, non GMO products.

Each monthly bundle will contain 2 whole chickens, a 4 ct. Pack of chicken breast, thighs, drums and backs. A 8 ct. pack of restaurant style chicken wings, a dozen chicken eggs. You will also get a pound of ground beef, a pound of ground pork and one specialty meat per month. The specialty meat can be but isn't limited to, muscovy duck, pork sausage or ground goat. You do have a choice monthly to opt out of the specialty meat and get extra chicken(s) of equal value. I will also throw in extra items if I have an over abundance of a particular product that month.

Everything is raised on pasture and is non gmo. The poultry is also processed and packaged by us on farm. Each pickup will be at the farm.

It's $550 total. If you want to sign up or have questions please message me here or text me at 443-889-6000. We accept cash, venmo, paypal, cash app, zelle or checks. We also accept credit cards but for a small fee. Money is due at signup. We can do signup completely on line too, if that's what you prefer.

CSAS really help us and in turn it helps you to keep your freezer full of healthy and humanely raised meats. When you sign up for our CSA you are purchasing a percentage of our harvest for that particular month. It not only helps pay for the cost of feed and maintenance, it also helps us to purchase large items like equipment and fence chargers (to keep the goats in 😅) Thank you to our community for all your support, to keep our little farm going ❤️🐂🐖🐓🦆

This picture shows what our members received in their packages last month 🙂 last month they received a guinea fowl. You will get 3 packages like this but the specialty meat will change monthly.

The truth is, we believe many veterinarians and veterinary technicians share these same concerns and opinions. Unfortunately, far too many have been silenced, intimidated, or afraid to speak openly because of the power and influence of those in positions of authority.

What she wrote was honest, courageous, and desperately needed. People should not be afraid to speak the truth about their experiences.

It’s time for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and the entire veterinary community to stand together. We cannot continue allowing fear, intimidation, and bullying to silence people.

When good people stay silent, nothing changes. It’s time to stand up, speak out, and demand accountability.

Interesting!

Switching from traditional crop netting to red nets cuts pesticide use by up to 50%.

It’s a chemical-free defense against destructive pests.

In a groundbreaking study from the University of Tokyo and the Kyoto Prefectural Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Center, researchers discovered that covering crops with red-colored nets dramatically deters pests like onion thrips.

This innovative 'optical pest control' method cleverly exploits the biology of many common insects, which lack red photoreceptors. Because the pests cannot easily perceive red light, the nets act like an invisible shield, disrupting the visual cues insects rely on to find and settle on host plants.

Beyond cloaking the crops, these red nets offer a massive physical advantage over traditional black or white mesh. Because the deterrent effect relies on color perception rather than physically blocking the bugs, the nets can be manufactured with much larger holes. This dramatically improves greenhouse air circulation, lowers localized temperatures, and prevents the mold and fungal diseases that thrive in damp, closed environments. With field trials showing a 25% to 50% drop in synthetic chemical applications, this colorful innovation could soon transform sustainable farming worldwide.
