Most people with insulin resistance have no idea
they have it.
Their fasting glucose is normal. Their A1C is fine.
Their doctor told them everything looks good.
But underneath, their metabolism has been struggling
for years — sometimes decades — before a single
standard test catches it.
I recently saw a 44-year-old patient who had just
left a "clean bill of health" appointment elsewhere.
When I ran a HOMA-IR — a simple calculation most
physicians never order — his score was 4.8.
Significant insulin resistance. Years in the making.
He had no idea.
In my latest blog post I explain exactly what
insulin resistance is, why standard screening misses
it, and what you can do about it — before it becomes
something harder to reverse.
