Today I accidentally reminded myself that “better” does not require “finished.”
My shower had become overwhelming....again.
Not dirty exactly. Just… chaotic.
Products everywhere.
Half-empty bottles.
Things sideways and left open from my kids’ marathon showers. 😅
The frustrating part is that I intentionally designed this shower to support my body:
- extra wide,
- built-in seat,
- low step-in,
- easy access.
So when it becomes disorganized, my nervous system starts avoiding it because the supportive system itself no longer feels supportive.
Today I didn’t deep clean it.
I didn’t force myself into a giant productivity project.
I stood in the hot water, let my body relax a little, and simply:
- combined conditioner bottles,
- reorganized products,
- reduced friction,
- and restored usability.
The bathroom still isn’t “done.”
There are empty bottles on the floor right now. 😂
But the shower is markedly better.
And interestingly… so is my overwhelm.
I think sometimes healing looks less like:
“complete the entire task”
and more like:
"create systems your nervous system can actually live inside."
And then we thrive in a sustainable life built intentionally.
Wishing you peace and joy, always,
Amanda.
