💛 “Your journey may look different than you imagined, but different doesn’t mean impossible.”

Fertility journeys rarely follow a perfect timeline. There may be unexpected turns, difficult days, waiting, and moments when hope feels a little harder to hold onto.

Not Ready for Parenthood Yet? Egg Freezing Can Give You More Options for the Future.

Your timeline doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Maybe you’re still in school. 🎓
Maybe you’re focused on building your career. 💼
Maybe you haven’t found the right partner yet. 💕
Or maybe you simply know that parenthood isn’t right for you *right now.*

Egg freezing allows you to preserve eggs at your current age for potential use later, giving you more options as you plan for the future.

Because egg quality and quantity generally decline with age, choosing to freeze your eggs earlier may help preserve younger eggs for when—or if—you decide you’re ready to grow your family.

At Hudson Valley Fertility, we can help you understand your fertility, discuss whether egg freezing makes sense for your goals, and create a plan centered around your timeline.

Your career. Your education. Your relationships. Your future.
You don’t have to rush your life to protect your fertility options.💙

💙 September is PMOS Awareness Month 💙

PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), formerly known as PCOS, is a common hormonal and metabolic condition—and there are still many misconceptions surrounding it.

This month, we’re helping separate fact from fiction. Here are a few things you may not know:

✨ You don’t need to have ovarian cysts to be diagnosed with PMOS.
✨ Having regular periods doesn’t necessarily rule it out.
✨ PMOS can continue to affect your health beyond your reproductive years.
✨ It may impact metabolic health, sleep, insulin resistance, and diabetes risk—regardless of body size.
✨ AMH levels can provide helpful information, but AMH should not be used by itself to diagnose PMOS.

For those trying to conceive, PMOS can also affect ovulation and fertility—but having PMOS does not mean pregnancy is out of reach. Understanding what’s happening in your body can help your fertility specialist create a treatment plan based on your individual needs.

If you’ve been diagnosed with PMOS, have symptoms that concern you, or are having difficulty getting pregnant, Hudson Valley Fertility is here to help you better understand your fertility and your options. 💙

💗 Last week, we lost a legend.

Dolly Parton touched generations with her music, humor, generosity, and enormous heart. But one part of her story may resonate especially deeply within the fertility community.

Dolly spoke openly about not having children of her own and how that shaped the love she gave to others:

“I didn’t have children because I believed that God didn’t mean for me to have kids so everybody’s kids could be mine.”

She became a mother figure to so many—not only within her own family, but through the millions of children whose lives she touched through her kindness and philanthropy.

For anyone whose path to motherhood or parenthood hasn’t looked the way they once imagined, Dolly’s life is a beautiful reminder that love, family, nurturing, and legacy can take many different forms. 💕

Thank you, Dolly, for sharing your heart with all of us. You truly became a little bit of everyone’s mother.

Rest in peace, Dolly. 🌸

Who owns your fertility clinic—and does it matter?

When choosing a fertility clinic, you may compare doctors, treatment options, success rates, location, and cost. But there’s another question you may not have thought to ask:

Is the fertility practice physician-owned or part of a larger corporate organization?

Hudson Valley Fertility is physician-owned and operated, which means our medical leadership is directly connected to the care we provide every day. 💙

Ownership alone doesn’t determine the quality of fertility care, but understanding how a practice is structured can help you ask important questions about:

✨ Who makes decisions about your treatment
✨ How involved your physician will be
✨ Whether your treatment plan is individualized
✨ Continuity with your care team
✨ How questions and concerns are handled throughout treatment

Choosing a fertility clinic is a personal decision—and you deserve to understand exactly who is behind your care.

Egg Quality After 39: What Should You Know?

If you’re 39 or older and thinking about growing your family, you may have questions about your egg quality—and what age really means for your fertility.

As we age, both the number and quality of our eggs naturally decline. After 39, these changes can become more significant. Eggs are more likely to have chromosomal abnormalities, which can make fertilization, healthy embryo development, implantation, and pregnancy more challenging.

But age is only one part of your fertility story. 💙

Your overall reproductive health, ovarian reserve, medical history, and other individual factors can all play a role. A fertility evaluation can help you better understand where you are today and what options may be available to you.

Depending on your individual needs, your fertility specialist may discuss:
🩷 Ovarian reserve testing
🩷 Fertility medications
🩷 IUI or IVF
🩷 Embryo genetic testing when appropriate
🩷 Donor egg options
🩷 A treatment plan personalized to your goals

Being over 39 doesn’t mean pregnancy is impossible—but because fertility changes more quickly with age, getting information sooner can help you make informed decisions about your next steps.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

For anyone navigating infertility or fertility treatment, you probably already know how comforting it can be to have a four-legged friend by your side. But did you know there’s actually science behind that comfort?

Research on human-dog interaction suggests that spending time with a dog may help:

🐶 Lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol
🐶 Increase oxytocin, a hormone associated with bonding and feelings of well-being
🐶 Help lower blood pressure
🐶 Reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, and loneliness
🐶 Encourage movement and physical activity through walks and play

While having a dog doesn't treat infertility or increase the chances of pregnancy, the companionship and stress relief our pets provide can be a meaningful source of emotional support during a fertility journey.

Sometimes a walk, a cuddle, or simply having your best friend beside you can make a difficult day feel a little lighter.

In honor of National Dog Day, show us the furry friend who has been by your side! Drop a photo in the comments. 📸🐾

Freezing your eggs can feel empowering, exciting, overwhelming—and sometimes all of those things at once.

If someone you care about is going through the egg freezing process, having a strong support system can make a meaningful difference.

Here are a few ways to be there for them:

🦋 Check in without putting pressure on them to share
🦋 Offer a ride to or from appointments or procedures
🦋 Help with meals, errands, or everyday tasks during treatment
🦋 Give them space to rest when they need it
🦋 Listen without trying to “fix” how they’re feeling
🦋 Celebrate this step in their family-building journey in whatever way feels right to them

Sometimes the most meaningful support is simply reminding someone that they don’t have to navigate the process alone.

If you’ve frozen your eggs, what did a friend or family member do that made you feel especially supported? Share below—you may give someone else a great idea. 💬

Back-to-school season can bring a mix of emotions. 🎒💙

While many families are celebrating new teachers, new classrooms, and first-day photos, this time of year can feel especially difficult for those navigating infertility or still waiting for the family they’ve been hoping for.

If the posts, conversations, events, or reminders feel like too much right now, it’s okay to protect your peace. Take a break. Say no to an invitation. Step away from social media. Give yourself the space you need.

At Hudson Valley Fertility, we know there are parts of the fertility journey that others may not always see. Whatever you’re feeling this season, your feelings deserve compassion and care. 💙
