I have some news that means a lot to me, and I hope it will to you too.

For years, it’s bothered me that I couldn’t treat everyone who needed care—there’s been red tape that kept me from reaching parts of our community. I’ve thought about those of you I couldn’t help, and it’s weighed on me.

So I’m genuinely thrilled to share that I’m opening a community-style acupuncture space with two comfortable recliners where treatments happen in a peaceful, shared room. This means I can finally offer affordable care to those of you on Medicare.

I know many of you have dealt with sudden coverage changes or watched your out-of-pocket costs climb higher than expected. This is for you. The space is quiet and calming. Treatments are 30 minutes. And the cost is $25-$40 on a sliding scale—you pay what works for your budget, no questions asked.

Right now, this is available exclusively for Medicare patients. Down the road, I may open it to others in our community, but for now, I want to make sure I can serve those of you who’ve been waiting.

If this is you, I’d love to see you. You deserve care that doesn’t break the bank, and I’m so glad I can finally offer it.

Booking will be available online very soon. I will update this post as soon as it’s live.

This will not change availability for booking private acupuncture sessions or any other services I offer.

1. Eat warm, cooked foods.
Cold and raw foods are seen as harder to digest and can weaken your “digestive fire.” We often recommend soups, stews, and warm breakfasts over salads and smoothies, especially if you have digestive issues or feel cold easily.

2. Avoid ice-cold drinks.
Room temperature or warm water is better for digestion and circulation. Iced beverages are thought to shock the system and slow down metabolism.

3. Go to bed before 11 PM.
In Chinese medicine, different organs are most active at different times. The liver does its restorative work between 1 AM and 3 AM, so late nights tend to interfere with detoxification and healing.

4. Don’t exercise to exhaustion.
Moderate, regular movement like walking, moderate strength training, or gentle yoga is encouraged. Intense workouts that leave you depleted can drain your qi (energy) rather than build it. This can impact longevity and vitality in the long-run.

5. Keep your lower back and feet warm.
The kidneys (an important organ system in Chinese medicine) are believed to be vulnerable to cold. Dress warmly, especially your lower back, abdomen, and ankles. In the cold, crop tops aren’t it.

6. Manage stress through breathwork or meditation.
Stress stagnates qi and causes imbalances throughout the body. Even five minutes of deep breathing daily can make a difference.

7. Eat seasonally and locally when possible.
The body tends to naturally crave what it needs based on the climate and season. Heavy, warming foods in winter; lighter, cooling foods in summer.

8. Reduce or eliminate damp, phlegm-producing foods.
This includes dairy, fried foods, and excessive sweets, which are thought to create “dampness” in the body—linked to sluggishness, brain fog, and inflammation.

9. Move your body regularly.
Sitting or lying down too much causes qi stagnation. Regular movement keeps energy flowing smoothly through the body.

10. Listen to your body’s signals.
Pay attention to cravings, energy dips, digestive responses, and emotional patterns. These are all diagnostic clues about what’s out of balance.
