Back-to-school isn't just an adjustment for the kids carrying the backpacks.

Little siblings notice when the household rhythm changes, too. Earlier mornings, empty bedrooms, different schedules, and fewer hours with their big brothers and sisters can be a lot of change for a little nervous system to process.

A few things can help make the transition easier: keep routines predictable, make time for movement and outdoor play, prioritize sleep, and give those little ones plenty of connection and reassurance.
