We recently held a Memorial Service with the help of Ascend Hospice to remember our friends who have passed on this year. Our Resident Care Director, Rachel, was instrumental in planning this and planted a beautiful hydrangea to memorialize our special friends. We had a beautiful day for our special event, our friends may be gone but they certainly are not forgotten.🕊️

National “Play In The Sand Day” & National “Kinetic Sand Day” was yesterday, so play with sand, we did! Kinetic sand is a soft, pliable, “non-messy!” type of sand that is almost like playdough…but sandy! It’s so fun if you’re 2 or 102 (see Priscilla)! ☺️ It’s a fascinating and quite therapeutic creation, so we gave it a whirl! Conversation was sparked about going to the beach and memories that come along with that. And what a pleasant surprise to have our ED, Melanie, join in on the fun! Now inquiring minds want to know, when is the last time YOU played in the sand? 🏖️☀️🏰🐚

We got our craft on yesterday with seashell trinket dish making with a touch of summer and they came out so lovely! 🥰

We started our morning with coffee on the 4th floor balcony for a change of scenery! We had a lovely breeze up there while we visited on this beautiful day. Jen got the conversations started with specific questions for all to take turns answering and discussing. We learned some fun things about each other and had some real talk, too. Thank you, Ladies, for adventuring upstairs for a little something different. All are welcome, this will be offered towards the end of the month, as well, but of course, Residents can enjoy this space anytime they’d like 🤗

We sure had some happy lunch-goers on a trip to S&S Lobster to kick the summer off a while back 🌞 We had service with a smile and some delicious meals! Today feels like a seafood kind of day 🦞 Hello, August!

She did it!! 🥳 We are so proud of our special fur-friend, Bella Mae, for receiving her Certification on becoming an official Therapy Dog! We are proud to say that sweet Bella Mae has been coming in since January to be with new folks in a variety of settings here to help her with her Therapy Dog training. She is such a sweet, gentle soul and we are so proud of how far she has come! We awarded Bella with some new toys and a special Certificate of Appreciation for her work here, which has been a win/win! Big congrats to Bella Mae and her equally as sweet Mama, Cheryl! Wonderful work!! 🤗🦮🐾🎓

When the ice cream comes to you, it’s not only a good day but a good time! Big thanks to Mike & Ants Ice Cream truck for delivering not only some fun treats but big smiles today, as well! Anthony gave great service to each & every one of us that visited the truck, what a nice summer afternoon it was ☀️
