🌸 BLOOMS OF LIFE SCENARIO 🌸
“I Love My Mama, But I Was Running Out of Patience…”
Mrs. Johnson is 82 years old and lives with her daughter. During the day, she is sweet, calm, and enjoys watching television and looking through old photo albums. But every evening around 5 PM, things begin to change.
She starts pacing the floor, asking repeatedly, “Where is my mother?” even though her mother passed away many years ago. She becomes confused, agitated, and insists she needs to “go home” while standing in her own living room.
Her daughter works all day, cooks dinner, manages the household, and tries her best to care for her mother. Some nights she finds herself exhausted, overwhelmed, and fighting back tears because no matter what she says, her mother becomes more upset.
One evening, after hours of redirecting, reassuring, and trying to keep her mother calm, she sat in her car and cried. Not because she didn’t love her mother, but because she was simply tired.
That’s when she learned something important:
Caregivers need care too.
With the help of a companion caregiver from Blooms of Life HomeCare, Mrs. Johnson now has someone trained to provide companionship, redirection, reassurance, and a calming presence during those difficult evening hours. Her daughter finally has time to rest, run errands, or simply take a breath.
