Today, we’re celebrating FIVE YEARS with a team of seven speech-language pathologists!

Behind that growth are the people who made it possible: the families who trusted us, the community who recommended us, and the clinicians who bring their dedication and compassion to our work every day.

From first words to meaningful conversations, it’s a privilege to be part of your stories.

Thank you for helping this little dream grow. Here’s to more connections, more milestones, and more lives touched in the years ahead! 🎉

🗣️ We need YOUR voice! ACCESS TO SPEECH THERAPY IS AT RISK — AND WE NEED FAMILIES TO SPEAK UP. 🚨

If an SLP has made a difference in the life of you, your child, your parent, or someone you love, please take a few minutes to share your story.

At Lifespan Therapy, we have the privilege of seeing every day what speech-language pathology can make possible—from a child finding their voice, to someone learning to eat and swallow safely, to an adult regaining communication after an illness or injury.

But access to these services depends on our ability to continue providing them. Reimbursement for speech-language pathology has not kept pace with the cost of care, and that affects far more than SLPs. It can affect staffing, waitlists, insurance participation, and ultimately whether families can access the services they need.

This is where our families can help. ❤️

The SPEAK Project makes it easy to share how speech therapy has impacted your life. Your story can be turned into a personalized advocacy letter and shared with policymakers who need to understand why protecting access to speech-language pathology services matters.

If speech therapy has made a difference for your family, please tell your story. And if you know another family whose life has been impacted by an SLP, please SHARE this post with them.

Happy National Speech-Language Pathologist Day to the profession that sees beyond “just speech.” 💜
As SLPs, we help children and adults find their voice, improve feeding skills, support swallowing, strengthen communication, and advocate for better quality of life across every stage of development.
This year, I’m especially proud to celebrate by sharing something that just became available — my book:
📚 Little Mouths, Big Impact: How Oral Function Shapes Feeding, Sleep & Speech
This book was created to help parents better understand the connections between oral function, feeding, mouth breathing, sleep, speech development, and overall regulation in a way that feels practical and approachable.
✨ Now available on Amazon! https://a.co/d/05niTlyn
Whether you’re a parent, therapist, educator, or fellow SLP, I hope it helps bring awareness to how much the mouth impacts the whole body.
Thank you to every SLP out there making a difference every single day. 💜

Breathing games that are actually building lifelong skills? Yes please 👏💨

Myofunctional therapy doesn’t always look like “therapy” — sometimes it looks like laughter, floating balls, focused breathing, and learning how to make the mouth work together as a team.

These activities help support:
• Nasal breathing
• Lip closure
• Oral airflow control
• Tongue function
• Oral motor coordination
• Attention and regulation

And the best part? Kids think they’re just playing. 🎯

Tiny exercises can create BIG impact when it comes to speech, feeding, sleep, and overall oral function. 💜
