Disc bulge and herniated disc are not the same thing, even though people use the terms interchangeably. With a bulge, the disc extends unevenly but the outer wall stays intact, and it usually develops slowly with a dull, aching pain. A herniated disc means the inner material has actually pushed through that outer wall, often after a specific strain, and the pain tends to be sharper, with numbness or tingling that can travel down an arm or leg. Here's the part that matters most. Both respond well to chiropractic care. If you're dealing with either one, we can help you figure out which it is and build a plan around it.
