๐Ÿ’ Happy Retirement, Annette! ๐Ÿ’

After over 10 years of dedicated service with Assisting Hands, we are celebrating the retirement of one of our longtime caregivers! ๐Ÿ’™

We are incredibly grateful for the years of compassion, reliability, and care she has given to our clients and their families since almost the beginning of Assisting Hands. Ten years of caregiving represents countless lives touched and moments of support when families needed it most.

While we are sad to say goodbye, we are happy that Annette will have more time to spend with her children and grandchildren.

Congratulations on your retirement, Annette, and thank you for being such an important part of the Assisting Hands family. We wish you all the happiness in this next chapter! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’

Care Tip Tuesday ๐Ÿ“–

As always, every tip comes straight from our care team, sharing the best advice they've learned from years of hands-on experience.

Today's Topic: Staying Oriented ๐Ÿ•’

Today's Tip: "Digital clocks that display the month, day, year, and time are a must. Even better if it's an audible clock for those who have poor vision."

A large, easy-to-read clock can help reduce confusion and provide reassurance throughout the day. For individuals with vision changes, an audible clock adds another layer of support by making it easier to stay oriented and maintain independence. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ“–NEW Real Talk Article๐Ÿ“–

In Kate Race's latest blog, she shares an important reminder that every caregiver needs to hear: taking care of yourself isn't selfish, it's essential. ๐Ÿ’™

Caring for a loved one with dementia can be physically and emotionally exhausting, but you can't pour from an empty cup. Prioritizing your own well-being helps you provide better care while protecting your own health along the way. Click the link below to read Kate's full article.

Care Tip Tuesday ๐Ÿ“–

As always, every tip comes straight from our care team, sharing the best advice they've learned from years of hands-on experience.

Today's Topic: Resistance to Care

Today's Tip: "What looks like resistance may actually be sensory overload."

Dementia slows down the brain's ability to process information. Slowing things down and going at your loved one's pace can help reduce resistance to care. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŸ Caregiver of the Month: Dejah! ๐ŸŒŸ

Please join us in celebrating Dejah, our July Caregiver of the Month!

Dejah makes a difference by building meaningful connections with her clients. Whether they're bonding over a favorite TV show, discussing the changing seasons, or simply sharing stories, she believes the little moments are what make caregiving so rewarding.

Dejah says one of her favorite things about working at Assisting Hands is the supportive team. She appreciates the open communication, understanding, and family-like atmosphere, along with the flexibility that allows her to balance work and life.

When she's not caring for clients, Dejah enjoys watching movies, swimming, and is excitedly preparing to welcome her first child.

Congratulations, Dejah, and thank you for the compassion, kindness, and dedication you bring to our clients every day! ๐Ÿ’™
