Sometimes we all need a little reminder to ✋ PAUSE!

This little pause button gives children a visual cue to stop, take a breath, think about what they should be doing, and then keep them on track.

We’re not expecting perfection—we’re building self-awareness, self-regulation, and independence one pause at a time!

The therapy toys have officially called a staff meeting to talk about their boss.

Apparently, they have some serious concerns about their working conditions…

Too many hours.
No PTO.
Constantly being thrown around.
And absolutely NO say in what activity they’re doing next.

Honestly, I think they’re about to contact HR.

But give that boy a billing sheet or something that needs fixing around the office, and he’s a TOP-TIER employee.

🌈 Play with a purpose! 🌈

Who says speech therapy can’t be fun?!

This simple activity gives us many opportunities to work on language skills while playing:

🎨 Colors – red, blue, yellow, green
📏 Size – big, little
📍 Prepositions – in, on, under, next to
🏃‍♀️ Actions – put, pick up, move, hide, find
🗣️ Following directions & building sentences

The best part? Kids are learning and practicing language skills without it feeling like “work.”

Play is powerful. And when we make therapy meaningful and fun, communication happens naturally!

When talking about play and speech-language development, it’s helpful to explain that play develops in stages—from exploring objects and learning what they do, to using objects together, pretending, and eventually creating complex stories.

A child who starts with:
🚗 “Car go!”

May eventually move toward:
👶 “Baby is hungry. Let’s make her some food!”

And eventually:
🏥 “Oh no! The baby is sick. We need to take her to the doctor!”

That’s vocabulary, sentence development, sequencing, problem-solving, perspective-taking, and storytelling—all happening through PLAY!

🗣️ How to Use Our Community Communication Board! 💬

Communication comes in many different forms—and everyone deserves a way to be heard. ❤️

Our new communication board is available for anyone who may benefit from additional support communicating while enjoying the park.

In this quick video, we’ll show you how to use the board to:
👉 Make choices
👉 Request something
👉 Comment about what you see
👉 Express feelings
👉 Communicate with friends, family, and others

You don’t have to be an AAC expert to use it! Simply point to the words, symbols, or pictures while speaking naturally with your child or communication partner.

Remember: Communication is more than talking. Every voice matters, every message matters, and every person deserves to be heard. 💙
