Helen Keaney was told the overnight shift at HSN would last three months.

It lasted six years.

And she was doing it while raising her child as a single mom.
There wasn’t much to love about working overnights, but Helen kept going until she was finally ready to make another big decision: leave HSN and return to stand-up comedy full time.

In our conversation:
✅ How three months on the overnight shift turned into six years
✅ What those years were really like as a single mom
✅ Why Helen ultimately decided to leave home shopping
✅ How saving money helped make her return to comedy possible

The full episode of The Shivan Show has plenty of behind-the-scenes stories too, from wardrobe budgets and the hunt for a good nail tech in a new city to what it really took financially for Helen to walk away and headline again.

It’s funny, candid, and a great reminder that sometimes the next chapter takes years to arrive.

The people in this room have already done what you are here to do

This is not a room full of people trying to figure it out. These are practitioners who have built platforms, agents who sign authors, hosts who book guests, and brand leaders and sponsors who are actively looking to say yes.

Not on a stage. Not behind a velvet rope. Sitting next to you at lunch. Standing next to you at the bar. In the hallway after the session that blew your mind.

This is the event where the right introduction becomes a collaboration that changes everything.

“I’m in over my head. I need help in this relationship. Would you join me?”

That’s the whole sentence.

What makes it powerful is that you’re not saying, “You need help.” You’re not listing everything the other person is doing wrong.
You’re saying I need help and asking the person you love to join you.

In this conversation:
✅ How to ask for relationship help without assigning blame
✅ Why our relationship problems may not be as unique as we think
✅ The difference a simple “Would you join me?” can make
✅ Why you don’t have to wait for a crisis to seek support

In the full episode of The Shivan Show, I also share what I think helps hold a marriage together, the Gottman weekend I wish we had booked years earlier, and some very real lessons from navigating Medicaid paperwork.

If asking for help in your relationship feels impossible, maybe these three words are a place to begin:
Would you join me?

God is not waiting for you to be better to be loved.

A nun said those words during a three-hour meditation service, and something in me shifted.

Her name was Sister Ranjana, and what she said was so simple. Yet I realized I had spent years carrying tension around the idea that somehow I needed to be better, do better, or become more worthy before I could fully receive love.

I was blocking something that was already available.
In this conversation:
✅ Why you are already worthy of love
✅ The simple words from Sister Ranjana that stayed with me
✅ How we can unknowingly put conditions on receiving love
✅ What happened when I finally understood it differently

That’s one of the things I wanted to hand you in this episode of The Shivan Show.

We also get very real about Medicaid paperwork, what I believe helps hold a marriage together, meditation, asking for help, and why I really want you to call your girlfriends.

Some of the advice that changes your life doesn’t come from one big revelation.

It comes from living.

From navigating money. Caring for someone you love. Marriage. Friendships. Asking for help. And learning that you don’t have to become some better version of yourself before you’re worthy of love.

This conversation starts with a reminder that stayed with me:
God is not waiting for you to be better for you to be loved.
And then we go everywhere.
✅ What navigating the Medicaid application process taught me
✅ Why asking for help can be surprisingly difficult and the sentence I use when I need to do it
✅ Why girlfriends can replenish your energy in ways that matter
✅ What meditation actually means beyond what we sometimes imagine it should be

This is one of those conversations about the things we’re all navigating but don’t always talk about openly: money, caregiving, relationships, faith, friendship, and getting through life with a little more wisdom.

Sinclair Kennally went through menopause in her twenties.

When she sought answers, she was told it was probably genetic. That was essentially the end of the investigation.

Her experience opens up a much larger conversation about women’s health: What happens when unusual symptoms are dismissed instead of prompting deeper questions?

In this conversation:
✅ Why women can feel dismissed or gaslit about their symptoms
✅ How gaps in women’s health research can influence the care women receive
✅ Why many different symptom patterns may have overlapping underlying contributors
✅ Why looking beyond the symptom can sometimes reveal important pieces of the puzzle

In the full episode of The Shivan Show, Sinclair also discusses how mold exposure can sometimes resemble anxiety or histamine-related symptoms, ways to investigate your own home, and the order in which she approaches detoxification support.

If you’ve ever been told “It’s probably just…” without feeling like anyone investigated why, this conversation may resonate with you.

You look around your house. You don’t see mold. So you assume you don’t have a mold problem.

Not so fast.

Sinclair Kennally explains why household mold is often hidden and why some of the clues can be surprisingly easy to miss.
In this conversation:
✅ Why mold problems aren't always visible
✅ Why swelling around windowsills after rain can be an important clue
✅ Why your mold assessor ideally shouldn’t also be the company doing the remediation
✅ Why investigating the environment matters when you suspect hidden mold

In the full episode of The Shivan Show, Sinclair also discusses urine mycotoxin panels, mold detection dogs, and why she pays attention to bile flow and bowel regularity when supporting people through mold detoxification.

If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t see mold, so my house must be fine,” you’ll want to hear this conversation.
