Some songs are created to entertain. Some are meant to impress.
This one wasn’t.
Peace Must Survive grew out of a quieter realization that often comes after you’ve spent enough time in chaos — when you start to see that the true battle isn’t the war, fire, the emergency, the crisis, or even the trauma itself.
The real fight is what remains inside you once the noise has subsided.

I’ve spent much of my life in roles that pushed me toward what others ran from—fire service, the military, counterterrorism, emergency response, and rescue. These environments train you to act quickly, make decisions fast, neutralize the threat, and solve problems on the spot. There’s always another call, another mission, another issue demanding immediate attention.
Then, the battle ends, and the war is over. Eventually, the sirens cease. The trucks are pulled back into the bay. The radio falls silent. The mountain road is empty once more.
And that’s when the real questions surface. Not the dramatic ones. The quiet ones.
What did that cost you?
What did you carry home?
And what part of you remains intact?
What the song is really saying at its core: You don't control what happens to you. But you do have a choice about what survives inside you. I hope this song encourages you to choose to let peace survive within you.
