🤍 PART 10: Treat Yourself Like Someone God Loves
There was a time when I believed taking care of myself could wait.
There were patients who needed me.
Children who depended on me.
Bills to pay.
Dreams to build.
Someone always seemed to need me more than I needed myself.
Maybe you've felt that way too.
Somewhere along the journey, I stopped treating myself with the same kindness, patience, and compassion that I so freely gave everyone else.
Then one day, a simple question stopped me in my tracks...
If I truly believed God loved me... would I treat myself this way?
Would I ignore the signals my body was sending me?
Would I wear exhaustion like a badge of honor?
Would I speak to myself with criticism instead of grace?
Would I continue believing that everyone else's needs mattered more than the life God entrusted to me?
..pause and let that question settle...
I don't think I would.
Scripture tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We were created with purpose, cared for by a loving Father, and entrusted with a body designed to heal.
Honoring that gift isn't selfish.
It's worship.
Choosing nourishing food.
Drinking water that supports your body.
Receiving chiropractic care.
Moving your body with gratitude instead of punishment.
Creating healthy boundaries.
Making time to be still with God.
These aren't acts of self-indulgence.
They're acts of stewardship.
They're quiet ways of saying,
Lord, thank You for this life You've given me. Help me care for it well.
The power that made the body...
still heals the body.
And the God who created you never intended for you to live constantly depleted, disconnected, and running on empty.
He created you for peace.
For purpose.
For joy.
For abundant life.
So today, before you rush into taking care of everyone else...
Pause.
Take one deep breath.
Look at yourself through God's eyes.
And ask yourself one more time...
If I truly believed God loves me... how would I care for myself today?
Then...
Do that.
Because maybe the most spiritual thing you do today isn't adding one more thing to your to-do list.
Maybe it's simply choosing...
to treat yourself like someone God loves.
🤍 My prayer for you...
May you begin to see yourself through God's eyes.
May you care for your body with gratitude instead of criticism.
May you quiet your nervous system enough to hear His voice.
May you choose rhythms that create peace instead of striving.
May you trust that the power that made the body still heals the body.
And may you never again forget...
to treat yourself like someone God loves.
If this series has encouraged you, I would be honored if you'd share it with another woman who needs this reminder today.
Because sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone isn't more advice...
It's helping them see themselves the way God already does.
❤️ Remember... God isn't asking you to become someone else. He's inviting you to become who He created you to be.
