If we had to guess, we would say getting blood drawn probably isn’t anyone’s favorite way to spend a morning (or any part of the day, for that matter). But sometimes routine blood work can give your healthcare provider useful information about what your body is experiencing or going through, before you even start noticing any symptoms.

This doesn’t mean that you have to get blood work done every year. How often you should have lab work done depends on several things like your age, overall health, medical history, medications, and risk factors.
