Texas summers are no joke, and kids are a lot more vulnerable to dehydration than most parents realize. Their bodies heat up fast and they often do not notice they are thirsty until they are already behind on fluids.
The good news is that a little awareness goes a long way. Know how much water your child needs, keep it within reach, and teach them to drink before thirst kicks in.
And if you ever notice dry lips, dark urine, fatigue, or dizziness, do not wait it out. Those are signs your child needs fluids and possibly a call to your pediatrician.
Save this one for reference this summer! 💧
