We recently welcomed Dr. Knetsche and his distributor, Shannon, to our St. Louis facility for a day of education, collaboration, and partnership.

During his visit, Dr. Knetsche toured our facility and led a VEO® Lateral Access System training session for our distributor partners. His clinical experience and knowledge of lateral access brought valuable perspective to the training and provided an opportunity for our team and distributors to learn directly from his experience in the OR.

We’re grateful to Dr. Knetsche and Shannon for taking the time to visit us and share their expertise, and to our distributor partners for their continued commitment to education and advancing spine care.

Great partnerships create meaningful opportunities for learning and innovation.

Recently, we had the privilege of hosting an international surgeon lab at our St. Louis facility in partnership with our valued distributor, Globaltec from Mexico.

Nine surgeons joined us for an immersive, hands-on training experience led by Dr. Ben Weisenthal, who proctored the lab featuring the VEO® Lateral Access System and Harrier SA® Interbody System.

Meet Mike Mueller — Principal Engineer & Systems Manager

Mike is a familiar face to many at Zavation. He’s been with us for over 21 years and has watched the company grow and change dramatically in that time.
In the early days, he wore a lot of hats beyond his engineering role. It wasn’t unusual to find him helping plan manufacturing operations, handling purchasing, or even running a machine on the shop floor. Today, Mike manages our CAD and PDM systems across all our offices, and his current engineering work focuses on our posterior fixation portfolio.

“I get to work with some incredibly talented surgeon partners, along with our amazing product development and manufacturing teams, to bring products to market that help patients lives. Seeing products we developed used to correct complex spinal conditions is the most rewarding thing I’ve done in my career. I couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come, or of what we do. We have a great team here at Zavation, and I’m humbled to be part of it.”

A sacroiliac joint fusion procedure performed using the Zavation SInapse® SI Fusion System with a posterior oblique approach. The system’s self-tapping, self-drilling screw design and purpose-built instrumentation supported the surgeon’s intended screw placement. In this procedure, the surgeon reported improvement in the patient’s SI joint–related pain.
