June is World Infertility Awareness Month, a time to recognize the millions of individuals and couples navigating the challenges of infertility.

The journey to grow a family can be filled with uncertainty, frustration, grief, and hope. If you are struggling to conceive, know that you are not alone. Infertility affects people from all walks of life, and seeking support is a sign of strength, not failure.

This month, we encourage open conversations, greater understanding, and compassion for those experiencing infertility. Together, we can help reduce stigma and remind those on this journey that support, resources, and care are available.

At East Lakeland OBGYN, we are honored to walk alongside our patients through every stage of their reproductive health journey.

On National Cancer Survivors Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and courage of cancer survivors everywhere.

A cancer diagnosis can change a life in an instant, but advances in screening, treatment, and supportive care continue to help more people survive and thrive. Today is an opportunity to honor those who have faced cancer, recognize their journeys, and raise awareness about the importance of preventive care and early detection.

Whether you are a survivor, supporting a loved one, or remembering someone affected by cancer, we join in celebrating hope, perseverance, and the power of community.

Planning a summer getaway? For many women with healthy pregnancies, travel can be a safe and enjoyable way to relax before your little one arrives.

Before you pack your bags, keep these pregnancy travel tips in mind:

- Talk with your healthcare provider before traveling, especially if you're in your third trimester or have a high-risk pregnancy.
- Stay hydrated and keep healthy snacks on hand.
- Take breaks to stretch and walk regularly during long car rides or flights to promote healthy circulation.
- Protect yourself from the heat by seeking shade, wearing lightweight clothing, and drinking plenty of water.

Keeping your child safe on the road starts with making sure their car seat is being used correctly. Before your next trip, take a moment to complete these five important car seat safety checks:

✔️ Make sure the harness fits snugly. You should not be able to pinch any excess strap material at your child's shoulders.
✔️ Check that the chest clip is positioned at armpit level.
✔️ Confirm that your child's car seat is appropriate for their age, height, and weight.
✔️ Ensure the car seat is securely installed with less than one inch of movement at the belt path.
✔️ Inspect the expiration date and look for any signs of damage or recalled parts.

A properly installed and correctly fitted car seat is one of the most effective ways to protect your child in the event of a crash. When in doubt, review your car seat's manual or consult a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Recovering after childbirth during the summer months can feel especially exhausting. ☀️🥱

Warmer temperatures may increase discomfort during postpartum recovery, making rest, hydration, and self-care even more important.

As your body heals, remember to:
• Stay hydrated throughout the day
• Wear lightweight, breathable clothing
• Avoid overheating outdoors
• Prioritize rest whenever possible
• Listen to your body and give yourself grace during recovery

Healing looks different for every mother, and taking care of yourself is an important part of caring for your baby too.
