A friend introduced CJ to the man who would become her husband, and more than 50 years later, she still remembers what stood out about him from the beginning. He was funny, different from anyone she had known, and above all, a gentleman. Looking back on their life together, she says she has no regrets.

The Blake at Flowood celebrated 14 incredible years with Krewe de Blake: The Blake Takes New Orleans! 💜 Residents, families, friends, and team members came together for a festive New Orleans-inspired celebration filled with live music, delicious food, festive decor, and plenty of fun.

From the sights and sounds of the French Quarter to the spirit of Mardi Gras, we celebrated 14 years of friendships, laughter, and the wonderful community that makes The Blake so special.

Our residents took a trip straight to the heart of the Mississippi Delta with our Taste of the Delta & 1990s Blues Concert Series! 🎶 We celebrated the rich history, food, and music that helped shape the Blues.

Our Taste of the Delta featured a delicious Southern lunch with Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Highway 61 Potato Wedges, Clarksdale Coleslaw, Mississippi Mud Pie, and Front Porch Sweet Tea.

After lunch, we continued the experience with live music from Mississippi musician Chris Gill. Our residents enjoyed familiar Blues favorites while learning more about the artists, places, and history that helped make Mississippi the birthplace of the Blues.
