Listen to your body🫶🏽🕊️
What would it feel like to spend one day tracking nothing and simply noticing?
I have been thinking lately about all the devices we now use to track ourselves.
The Oura Ring. The Fitbit. The glucose monitor. Blood oxygen levels. Sleep scores. HRV. A friend told me recently that she woke up at 3 am to check her sleep data and couldn't get back to sleep worrying about it.
In our somatic practice, we have always used different tracking devices like breath, pulse, quality of attention, and the thoughts we tell ourselves.
This is old technology, designed thousands of years ago, and it does something no wearable can. It brings you into contact with what cannot be calculated.
Yoga ultimately asks us to connect to something immeasurable. Not to make the life force better, but to cherish it as it is.
