A little PSA from your friendly neighborhood Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. đđź
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are not automatically the same thing.
There are plenty of people using hypnosis techniques, guided visualization, relaxation, meditation, mindset work, or even calling something âhypnosisâ after taking a short course.
And some of those experiences can be wonderful.
But being a trained and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist means there is education behind what happens before, during, and after hypnosis.
Iâm not simply trying to get you relaxed, give you a few positive suggestions, and send you back into the world hoping they stick.
Clinical hypnotherapy involves understanding how to work with subconscious patterns, emotional responses, resistance, triggers, nervous system responses, and the deeper reasons a pattern may have developed in the first place.
It also means knowing when to go deeper, when NOT to go deeper, how to create safety within a session, and how to work within an appropriate scope of practice.
Because getting someone into hypnosis is actually the easy part.
Knowing what to do once theyâre there?
Thatâs where the training matters.
So if youâre considering hypnotherapy, ask questions. Ask about someoneâs training, certification, experience, approach, and what their sessions actually involve.
Your subconscious is pretty important real estate.
Youâre allowed to be a little picky about who gets invited in. đ
