✨ A New Chapter for NorthStar Counseling ✨
After 13 incredible years of serving our community, I have made the bittersweet decision to close NorthStar Counseling effective September 1st. What started as a dream has grown into a journey I will forever be grateful for. I have had the privilege of walking alongside so many individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging and meaningful moments. I am deeply thankful for every client who trusted me, every family who welcomed me into their story, and everyone who supported NorthStar along the way.
While closing NorthStar is emotional, I am also incredibly excited for what comes next. I will be continuing my counseling career with Ochsner in Slidell, beginning a new chapter and embracing a new professional adventure.
Thirteen years has brought so many lessons, relationships, memories, and growth. I am proud of what NorthStar became and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have served our community.

Equine-assisted therapy does not involve riding. A significant part of the therapeutic process happens when the horse is allowed to be its authentic self, interacting naturally with participants. This allows the horse to become a powerful teacher and partner in the therapeutic experience. When a person rides a horse, the dynamic shifts—the rider becomes the one in control and the horse is expected to follow direction. In equine-assisted therapy, however, participants work on the ground with the horse. This creates space for genuine interaction, allowing individuals to learn about communication, boundaries, emotional awareness, and trust in a natural and meaningful way.
