Presentation Summary: Kyle Borowitz, OTR, MPT, CHT, Owner of Back in Action Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy in Practice

Marian University Exercise & Sports Science Class | March 20, 2026

Kyle Borowitz delivered an engaging presentation on the field of physical therapy, highlighting its vital role in helping individuals recover from injury, manage pain, and return to meaningful daily activities. Drawing from his experience with Back In Action Rehabilitation, he emphasized a patient-centered approach that focuses on individualized care, functional movement, and long-term wellness.

Kyle discussed the wide scope of physical therapy, including orthopedic rehabilitation, post-surgical recovery, injury prevention, and performance enhancement. He provided real-world examples of how therapists assess movement patterns, identify underlying issues, and develop tailored treatment plans using techniques such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and modalities like dry needling.

A key focus of the presentation was the importance of building strong relationships with patients to improve outcomes and adherence. Kyle also highlighted the growing demand for physical therapists and the variety of career opportunities available in outpatient clinics, hospitals, sports settings, and private practice.

For students considering the profession, he outlined the educational pathway, including undergraduate preparation, doctoral programs, and licensure requirements. He encouraged students to pursue hands-on experiences, shadow clinicians, and develop strong communication skills.

Meet Your Therapist: Grant Manke, DPT!

Grant is dedicated to helping individuals return to the activities they love. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Olivet Nazarene University in 2022 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in 2025.

Originally from Brownsville, Wisconsin, Grant developed a strong appreciation for hard work, community, and the outdoors. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outside whenever possible.

Grant’s passion for physical therapy grew from his own experiences with sports and injuries. Having gone through the rehabilitation process himself, he understands the challenges patients face and is committed to guiding them through every step of recovery.

He believes everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, active, and fulfilling life, and he’s motivated to help patients regain strength, restore confidence, and get back to doing what they love. 💪
