September is here and this month we are getting into something that quietly affects almost everything, how you see yourself. Your self-worth. Not in a fluffy, feel-good way. In a real, honest way.

Because how you feel about yourself shapes who you let in, what you tolerate, what you go after, and what you walk away from.

All month we will be talking about where low self-worth comes from, what it looks like in everyday life, and what actually helps build it back up. No toxic positivity. No 'just love yourself' advice. Just honest conversations about one of the most important things you can work on. Welcome to September.

We would never look at someone with a broken leg and tell them to just push through it. Walk it off. Think positive. Try harder.

That would be absurd.

But that is exactly what we say to people with anxiety every single day. Just relax. Stop overthinking. Other people have it worse. You will be fine.

As if anxiety is a mindset problem that goes away with enough willpower.

It is not. Anxiety is a real condition with real symptoms that responds to real treatment. Therapy works. Support works. Having someone in your corner who actually understands what is happening works.

Getting help is not a sign that you could not handle it. It is a sign that you understand what you are dealing with and you are taking it seriously. That is not weakness. That is one of the most sensible things you can do.

You do not have to keep managing this alone.

You know that moment when your thoughts start and you just cannot stop them.

One thought leads to another. Then another. Before you know it you have gone from a small worry to a full catastrophe that has not even happened yet. And the more you try to think your way out of it, the deeper you go.

Here is the thing about an anxious spiral. It lives in your head. So trying to stop it with more thinking is like trying to put out a fire with more fire.

You have to get out of your head and into your body.

Feel your feet on the floor. Name five things you can see right now. Take one slow breath out, longer than the breath in. Splash cold water on your face. Put your hand on your chest and feel it rise and fall.

None of these are magic. But they work because they pull your nervous system back into the present moment. And the present moment is almost always safer than wherever your thoughts were taking you.

Screenshot this and try it the next time your thoughts start running.

You think you are making choices. But sometimes anxiety got there first.

It is the reason you cancelled plans that you actually wanted to go to. The reason you stayed somewhere longer than you should have because leaving felt too uncertain. The reason you said yes when everything in you meant no.

Anxiety is not always loud. Sometimes it is just quietly steering. Choosing the safe option every time. Avoiding anything that might lead to discomfort, conflict, or uncertainty.

And the scariest part is that it feels like you. It feels like your personality, your preferences, your gut instinct. But it is not always. Sometimes it is just fear dressed up as a decision.

Swipe through to see the signs that anxiety might be running your choices.

Myth. And here is why that phrase does so much damage.

Anxiety starts in the brain but it does not stay there. It is in the tightness in your chest. The knot in your stomach. The tension in your shoulders you carry around all day. The jaw you clench in your sleep. The exhaustion that has nothing to do with how much rest you got.

The brain and body are not separate. What happens in your mind shows up everywhere else too.

So when someone says anxiety is just in your head, they are accidentally telling you that none of those physical symptoms are real.

But they are. Every single one of them.

Anxiety is a full body experience. Not a thinking problem you can decide your way out of.

If this is something you are dealing with, our DMs are open.

Here is something anxiety does that nobody warns you about.

It tells you that avoiding the thing is the safe choice. And the relief you feel when you cancel, delay, or walk away makes it feel like it worked.

But it did not. Every time you avoid something, your brain logs it as confirmed dangerous. And the next time it comes up, the anxiety is a little louder than before.

This is how anxiety grows. Not from big dramatic events but from small moments of avoidance that teach your brain to be more afraid, not less.

The only way through it is through it. Swipe to see what that actually looks like.

Save this and share it with someone who has been putting something off for way too long.

How many times have you told yourself to just get it together?

To stop overthinking. To calm down. To not be so sensitive.

As if anxiety is something you are choosing.

Here is what is actually happening. Your nervous system is doing exactly what it was built to do. It spots something that feels like a threat and it fires. The problem is it cannot always tell the difference between actual danger and a difficult email. It treats both the same way because it is trying to protect you.

That is not a character flaw. That is biology.

You are not weak. You are not broken. You have a nervous system that is working overtime to keep you safe. And that is something you can work with, not something to be ashamed of. đź’›

You have not even started the week yet and your body is already bracing for it.

Sunday evenings hit differently when you have anxiety. The day was fine. Nothing bad happened. But somewhere around 5pm something shifts and suddenly you are dreading tomorrow, replaying last week, and mentally preparing for every possible thing that could go wrong.

It has a name. The Sunday Scaries. And it is more common than you think.

Your brain starts anticipating the week ahead and the stress response kicks in before anything has actually happened. It is not weakness. It is just your nervous system getting ahead of itself.

Swipe through to understand why it happens and what actually helps.

Save this and share it with someone who loses every Sunday to dread.

Most of us just thought it was who we are.

The constant apologizing. Needing to know the plan. Replaying conversations for hours after they happen. Saying yes when you mean no because disappointing someone feels unbearable.

Nobody told us these were signs of anxiety. So we just assumed it was our personality.

There is a difference between who you are and how your nervous system learned to cope. Watch till the end because number four is the one most people do not even realize they are doing.

Save this and share it with someone who will see themselves in it.

August is here and this month we are talking about something most of us deal with every single day but rarely talk about openly.

Anxiety.

Not the clinical textbook version. The real, everyday kind. The kind that keeps you up at night replaying conversations. That makes you check your phone every five minutes waiting for something to go wrong. That has you feeling on edge even when your life looks fine on paper.

All month we will be sharing honest, practical posts about what anxiety actually feels like, what it is doing in your body, and what actually helps. No jargon. No pretending it is simple. Just real conversations.

Welcome to August.
