Greetings all from Abba Eri.
Let me first state this entry is not pleasant. However, the world is not pleasant right now.
I'll start with the world *sigh*...
A group I am part of was searching for the annual intention. The phrase 'times of chaos' came to me. I did argue for the phrase but it was not included. And that is beautiful because the intention states what we are working towards.
Allow me to go back to the phrase, 'times of chaos'. The words came from a vortex of colours- rust red, steel, mud, fireshot, etc. The clashing cacophony of noise drowned out speech yet I heard these words in head.
I saw (I am a seer) and gave it out. I was even able to connect it to our world- the Koreas, China-Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Within India, Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, the Sudans, Horn of Africa, Uganda, Central African Republic, Nigeria, the Gambia, Greece, Bosnia, EU Migrants, Ukraine, UK/Scotland, Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru/Bolivia/Chile, etc. Some of these are hot, some flash points, some waiting in the wings to swoop upon us unawares. Times of chaos, Ah-yup.
As a sidenote, the Sochi 2014 Olympics. George Takei wrote and expounded about how these Olympics were eerily akin to 1936. I hate N**i comparisons, they are over the top. However it is being born out faster then 1936 onward happened. The internet, social media, better radio and tv, whatever? Mr Takei nailed it. Germany, in 1936, used the Olympics to show the world how great they were while hiding what they were planning. In 2014, it has happened again. Putin's Russia created a winter wonderland in a sub-tropical resort, the IOC claimed the Olympic zone had been guaranteed safe from the anti-gay laws, most people spoke about thinking about the athletes: how hard they trained and it would awful to deny them and besides it wasn't about politics it was sport, and we should go ahead with them. And we did...
P***y Riot was horsewhipped for protesting in the Olympic zone (Who knew Russia hired Cossacks with whips as security?). On the day of the closing ceremony, 100's were arrested for protesting in their country which doesn't give out permissions to protest the government. Finally, less then a week after the games ended, Russian troops entered a neighbouring nation, Ukraine, with the Duma's agreement to send troops, ostensibly to maintain their treaty agreements with Ukraine. Now, the Putin and the Duma have said they will enter Ukraine.

We've been well played.
What about in the United States? We have gone from working together, marching and protesting, struggling together to make things work and having the respect of each other and other nations to apathy, individualism, to our own detriment, in the face of corporations doing as they will and the government shattering into near do nothings with a radical group creating boogiemen is mostly running roughshod over Congress. Because of all the squabbling and go no where discussions, we are being deflected from what is real- The economic growth is not pi***ng down on the 'used-to-haves', not causing meaningful job growth, and is a power struggle between Congress and the President. The 'have-nots' haven't seen p**s in a while, yet, they are reviled as the cause of the Great Recession. All the seeds of destruction and weeds of woe.
And while these things and more are happening, the world is frightened because how can they trust the US to be there when it needs to be. We have been a country of isolationism, we tried to stay out of the world wars but were pulled in anyway and we helped win them. Greatness was thrust upon us. And we have squandered it. Constantly saying were the greatest country on the work doesn't make it so.
How about in our own regions, states, and cities? Things cool by you? Detroit went bankrupt. Police are now anti-terrorist militias. Guns are for everyone everywhere but barely a well regulated militia (including the police) in sight. Most communities are either riven with extreme views or trying not to be noticed to stay out of the mess.
What about each of us? Do you know your neighbours? The community of place. We are all internet savvy and mobile so we are in various communities-faith, hobby, charity, hopes. If something happens it is the (community of) place which will first respond. If there is time, will one of your other communities be able to come to your aid. Or will they just witness. Only watch what is happening. There is no action, no change, no movement in only seeing. People need to do what they need to do to begin helping, changing, nurturing, holding, and moving.
