If you’re a very online person, you’ve probably seen A.I.-generated propaganda against the U.S.’s war on Iran, done in the style of Lego movies, with world leaders caricatured as yellow bobbleheads and missiles as plastic bricks. In recent weeks, the videos—made by a group called Explosive Media—have become inescapable artifacts of an international conflict that was already generating barrages of digital content. The clips have accumulated millions of views and many enthusiastic comments from Western audiences. They have been re-shared by Iranian government accounts and co-opted by No Kings protesters for their gleeful anti-Trump imagery.

The political messaging on display in the videos is as blunt and cartoonish as the blocky Lego characters. Lego Iranians celebrate missiles flying toward Tel Aviv as an A.I.-generated rap soundtrack plays. A Lego devil manipulates Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu like a puppeteer. A Lego grave reads “R.I.P. Donald J. Trump.” A missile-struck White House collapses in flames. “The subject matter is deathly serious—international war, unfolding in real time, killing thousands—but the visual vocabulary is preposterously trivializing,” Kyle Chayka writes.

This is by design—a representative of Explosive Media, with whom Chayka corresponded this week, explained that the team sees itself as fighting “a battle between truth and falsehood,” and “if truth isn’t flashy, it’s kinda lonely.” Read about the young Iranians making viral anti-American “slopaganda”: https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/GuEJgH

It simulates EMDR? Good point!!

Walk when:
- you’re having a difficult conversation
- you just got bad news
- you’re with a child who’s having a tantrum or a huge reaction “ok let’s walk together” get them moving
- you’re having therapy (if using telehealth or by phone especially)
- you’re feeling irritable and don’t know why
- you have to give someone bad news
- you wake up groggy
- you have brain fog or feel like your brain is “shut off”
- you want to text something you might regret
- you have to make a big decision
- your brain won’t stop replaying the conversation
- you want to connect with consciousness, god, or the universe
- you want to forgive yourself

Heart breaking for UVA community❤️‍🩹

This is heartbreaking. This has to STOP. Thinking of the families and loved ones of these young men. 💔

Repost:
At a press conference this morning, UVA President Jim Ryan confirmed Lavel Davis Jr, D’Sean Perry, and Devin Chandler — all members of the UVA football team — were killed in Sunday night’s shooting. The players had just returned from a class trip to Washington to see a play when they were attacked as their bus pulled into a campus parking garage. The suspect has been taken into custody and charged with three counts of second degree murder. Here’s what we know about the victims so far:

Lavel Davis Jr., 20, was a third year student from Richville, South Carolina. He was a wide receiver for the University of Virginia and had been playing with the university since 2020. Davis was set to graduate in December and was the beloved first child and “role model” to his younger brother and younger sister, his father Thaddeus Davis said. “I lost my baby. This is my firstborn child,” he told NBC News. He said Davis could “light up a room just with a smile” and that his son was focused on school, football, and his family.

D’Sean Perry, 22, was a fourth year student from Miami, Florida. He was linebacker and defensive end for the UVA Cavaliers — “a do it all defender.” He played in this past Saturday’s game against Pittsburgh and made two tackles. His parents, Happy and Sean, were heartbroken by the news.

Devin Chandler, was a second year student and a wide receiver and kick returner for the Cavaliers. Before coming to UVA, Chandler was a wide receiver and kick returner at the University of Wisconsin.
