🌟PATIENT SPOTLIGHT🌟

“Liam started in speech therapy last September to work on saying speech sounds more clearly. He was discharged in March after just 6 months of therapy because he worked so hard during every session and made remarkable progress. Liam learned to say ten different sounds correctly, starting with one word at a time, then in little phrases, and then in sentences. Liam was willing to do his homework between appointments and that is what made the biggest difference in his progress. A big shout-out also goes to Liam's mom, Rachel, who helped him with his homework. Working with Liam every week was a pleasure, and I am very proud of the huge improvements he made in his speech.” - Lisa, CCC-SLP

“Liam received occupational therapy for about 9 months, made great progress with his sensory processing and was discharged from OT services. He worked hard in the clinic and at home to participate in the Astronaut Training protocol to improve his vestibular processing. Liam actively participated in all therapy sessions and he and his mom grew in their ability to identify and implement appropriate sensory strategies. I greatly enjoyed working with Liam and his family, and I am proud of the improvements in sensory processing they have been able to see from their hard work!” - Jill, OTR/L

🎉As we round out another month, let’s celebrate the vital role pediatric occupational therapists play in helping children thrive. Pediatric OTs support children in developing the skills they need for everyday activities, from play and emotional regulation to self-care and social participation. Through individualized, creative, and evidence-based approaches, they empower children of all abilities to build independence, confidence, and success in their daily lives. Their work not only impacts the child but strengthens families and communities as a whole.
