After 16 amazing years, the time has come to step away from our current retail location and begin a new chapter for Termini Nutrition.
For the last 16 years, Termini Nutrition has been my life. I’ve watched your children grow up - and now some of them are in college. You watched Gianna come into this world, and somehow she is already entering her pr***en years. I’ve seen customers become friends and friends become family. This store has given me relationships and memories that I will carry with me forever.
I met Mike when he was a personal trainer at Ultimate Gym. From day one, we had so much in common, and it was clear that we were meant to be in each other’s lives. Although I had trained for years and loved fitness, my nutrition was lacking. Through Mike’s guidance, I developed a healthier relationship with food, gained confidence, and improved my life in so many ways.
By the end of 2010, we took over an existing vitamin storefront and made it our own. Lacey was Mike’s hometown, and because he had previously owned Cycle House here, the community welcomed and supported us. Together, we built Termini Nutrition from our shared passion. It was everything to us, including the future we envisioned for ourselves and our family.
Mike was also a well-known and loved face in the bodybuilding community. I have wonderful memories of competing in my first show alongside him just a few months after Gianna was born. Mike won several competitions, competed nationally, and came incredibly close to earning his pro card. We truly believed his time was coming, but unfortunately, God had other plans.
For the past eight years, I have kept the store going on my own, even though part of my heart was missing. It never felt quite the same without Mike. I especially missed the unique sense of humor we shared as a team..laughing, joking around, and having fun with our customers. Those moments made the store feel like home.
During those years, I was also learning how to rebuild our lives and raise Gianna as a single mom. Balancing motherhood, grief, the store, and everything happening behind the scenes has not always been easy. I continued because I believed in what Mike and I created and because of all of you.
To my amazing customers: thank you for believing in us, trusting my guidance, and allowing me to be part of your health and wellness journeys. I made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I learned from every one of them.. and through it all, you stayed with me. Thank you for giving me the grace to grow, both as a business owner and as a person.
Some of my favorite moments were when people who had lived in town for years came in for the first time and said “I never even knew you were here!” From those unexpected visits, incredible relationships formed -often simply through word of mouth. Many of my closest friendships began through Mike and this business, and those relationships are among the greatest gifts this store has given me.
This journey has taught me that life is precious, nothing lasts forever, and every season is temporary. Sometimes we need to take a couple of steps back before we can move forward again-to breathe, appreciate what we have, and make room for what comes next.
Now it is time for me to take a much-needed break and work behind the scenes. As a single mom, my greatest priority is creating more time, balance, and flexibility for Gianna. I also want the opportunity to focus on my own growth, continue my education, restructure the business, and begin pursuing dreams of my own.
Although our current location is closing, this is not the end of Termini Nutrition-and it may not be the end of seeing us in a retail setting. Our online presence will be up and running soon, and when the time is right, I am open to opportunities to collaborate with others in the industry. I’m excited to see where this next chapter may lead.
