Emerging adulthood asks you to build a life while you’re still learning how to carry one.

Between school, work, finances, relationships, independence, and expectations for what comes next, feeling stressed can almost start to feel like part of the job. 💼 But stress and burnout aren’t the same.

⚡Stress often feels like too much; too much to do, too much to think about, too much competing for your attention.

🔋Burnout can look more like not enough left; less energy, less engagement, and a growing sense that you don’t have the capacity you once did.

At BreakThrough, we work with emerging adults navigating mental health alongside a stage of life already filled with significant transition. When stress, exhaustion, or disengagement begins interfering with someone’s ability to function in everyday life, it may be time to look beyond the stress itself. ➡️https://basepointbreakthrough.com/schedule-assessment/

What looks like a lack of motivation in young adults may be something entirely different.

Anxiety, emotional dysregulation, executive functioning challenges, and the growing pressures surrounding young adulthood can all shape behaviors that are too often interpreted as a “failure to launch.”

At the Northern Metro Counseling Association Fall Conference, Vanessa Pike, LCSW, Executive Director of BasePoint North Richland Hills, will take a closer look at the modern young adult mental health crisis and how a developmentally informed perspective can help counselors better understand and support this population.

🧠 The Modern Young Adult Mental Health Crisis: Failure to Launch or System Failure?

We’re proud to recognize Jordan Anselma, LPC, Regional Director of Operations at BasePoint, who has been named to Behavioral Health Business's Future Leaders Class of 2026. 🌟

Selected from peer nominations, Future Leaders recognizes professionals who are putting vision into action and helping shape the future of behavioral healthcare.

For Jordan, that impact starts with people. Throughout her feature, she shares how leadership has taught her the importance of developing strong teams, creating opportunities for others to grow, and building the confidence and capability of the people around her.

It’s a philosophy that extends to the future of behavioral health, too: continuing to evolve, expanding access without compromising quality of care, and staying willing to learn, collaborate, and adapt to the needs of the people we serve.

We’re proud to have leaders like Jordan who are putting those qualities into practice every day and helping shape what comes next for behavioral health. 🩵

🔍 Beyond the Point by BasePoint

Academic success isn’t a definitive measure of strong mental health.📝

Some students continue showing up, completing assignments, earning good grades, and meeting expectations while quietly struggling with their mental health.

For others, the signs may be more visible: difficulty concentrating, increased absences, missing assignments, changes in performance, or withdrawing from the things they once enjoyed.

💡 Remember to check in with the students who appear to be thriving, too. Academic success doesn’t always tell us how a student is doing beyond the classroom.

If the conversation signals a need for more support, our Patient Access team is available to help families and student support teams navigate what comes next. 📞972-325-2633

Navigating young adulthood comes with its own set of challenges, and meaningful progress looks different for every person.

For young adults, treatment can mean moving forward with new tools, a stronger sense of self, and the confidence to navigate what comes next.

That’s what makes words like these so meaningful. Not just seeing the progress made at BasePoint BreakThrough, but knowing that progress continues long after their time with us. ⭐

Vanessa Pike has made a lasting impact at BasePoint, known for leading with purpose, consistency, and a deep commitment to the people around her.

Today, Vanessa steps into an exciting new chapter as Executive Director of BasePoint North Richland Hills📍, entrusted with opening and leading our newest and final DFW location serving adolescents and young adults.

Opening a new location means building more than a team or a program. It means establishing a culture, creating connection within a new community, and carrying forward the standard of care BasePoint has built across DFW.

And we couldn’t think of a stronger leader to do it.

Congratulations, Vanessa, on this well-earned next chapter and the impact you continue to make at BasePoint. 👏 🩵

🔍 Beyond the Point by BasePoint

Anxiety can keep us stuck in the “what ifs,” mentally preparing for every possible outcome in an attempt to feel more certain.

💭 But what if we shifted the question?
What if it rains? ➡️ Even if it rains, I can handle it.
What if something goes wrong? ➡️ Even if it does, I can figure out what comes next.

“Even if” doesn’t promise that everything will go as planned. It reminds us that we don’t need certainty to trust ourselves.

💡 Sometimes, the goal isn’t eliminating the “what if.” It’s building confidence in what comes after it.

📍 North Richland Hills. Expanding access, August 18.

On Tuesday, August 18, BasePoint opens its doors to our fifth DFW location, expanding access to specialized mental healthcare for adolescents and young adults across Tarrant County.

Different stages of life call for different care. BasePoint Academy and BasePoint BreakThrough provide developmentally aligned PHP and IOP programs built specifically for adolescents and young adults.

Another community. More access. The same commitment to providing the care we would want for our own families. 🩵

When connecting someone to care, access starts here.
