On your next walk or park trip, help your little one notice the colors, sounds, sizes, and textures around them. Offer simple choices, model a word when needed, and make room for any response, including words, sounds, gestures, or smiles. Most importantly, keep it playful and enjoy exploring together!

🎓 Core’s very first graduate! 🎓

This one is extra special to us! 💛 Six months ago, this sweet girl became our very first official client as we began our journey at Core Therapy, and today we got to celebrate her graduation from speech therapy!

We are so proud of how hard she has worked and the progress she has made with her speech sounds. A huge part of that progress came from the amazing support she had at home—her family consistently practiced with her, reinforced what we were working on in therapy, and truly made speech a team effort. ❤️

Congratulations to our chicken-loving girl! 🐔💕 We will miss seeing you each week, but we are SO proud of everything you’ve accomplished! 🎓✨

🏕️ We’ve been having a great time at Camp CORE this month! 🌲🔥

Our campers have been busy learning, creating, playing, and building their communication skills along the way! From camping-themed crafts and activities to roasting pretend marshmallows, we’ve loved bringing a little bit of the great outdoors into our therapy sessions. 🐻⛺️🦝

Sensory bins are such a fun way to work on so many speech and language skills at once! 📚✨

We paired our school-themed sensory bin with We Don’t Eat Our Classmates to work on answering WH questions from the story and talking about the different items we found in the bin. We also incorporated articulation practice by searching for and naming pictures that targeted the /p/ and /b/ sounds.

One activity, so many opportunities for speech and language, and it still feels like play! 💬🎒🚌

One toy… endless therapy opportunities!

One of our favorite therapy toys at Core Therapy is the Critter Clinic because it can be transformed to fit almost any theme! Throughout the summer, our clinic became an under-the-sea adventure filled with ocean animals. This month, it’s getting a back-to-school transportation makeover with buses, cars, construction vehicles, and more!

While it may look like “just a toy,” it’s actually packed with opportunities to target speech and language skills through play.

✨ We use it to:
• Encourage requesting and functional language (open, more, help, my turn)
• Build vocabulary by naming and describing themed items
• Practice following directions and answering questions
• Target articulation by filling each door with objects that include a child’s target speech sound
• Spark imagination, conversation, and pretend play

The best therapy doesn’t always look like work. Sometimes it looks like opening little doors, discovering surprises, and having fun while building communication skills! 💙

Another fun week at Core Therapy! 🌊🐠 Our ocean-themed activities are keeping little learners engaged while we target speech sounds, language, play, and communication skills in meaningful, hands-on ways. It’s been so much fun watching our clients build confidence and make progress this summer! 💙

🏖️🎣 Today we made a beach ball filled with our target words and then “fished” for opportunities to practice them. Play-based learning is one of the best ways to keep speech therapy meaningful, motivating, and fun!
