Is your child getting ready to start middle school this fall? The transition can bring excitement, nerves, and lots of questions. Our Summer Middle School Counseling Group is designed to help incoming middle school students build confidence, develop social skills, and learn tools to navigate this new chapter successfully.

🌟 Students will explore:
✔️ Stress management skills
✔️ Organization & time management
✔️ Social skills & confidence building
✔️ Healthy ways to cope with change

I would have loved to have had the option right here in my hometown to take my kids to a place like Emersyn's Corner when they were younger. Make plans to stop by if you haven't and spread the word. Sensory-friendly, accessible spaces are so important.

Some more moments from Saturday’s Light in the Dark event 🕯️💚

We are incredibly grateful to our speakers, everyone who donated, volunteered, attended, and helped bring this event to life. Your support, kindness, and willingness to show up for mental health awareness made this night so meaningful.

Seeing our community come together to support hope, healing, and connection was truly special. Thank you for helping us shine a light in the dark and remind others that they are never alone.

Our hearts are full.

In vulnerability, we asked our community to show up and proclaim the individual and collective importance of mental health care. We invited you to bear a light in the dark, a symbol that no friend, family member, neighbor, or stranger should ever feel they have to walk alone.

And then, to our utter delight, our community answered the call.

The inaugural Light In The Dark became a powerful evening of resource sharing, connection making, story telling, and hope. Together, we walked a single lap as a visible reminder that healing happens in community and that asking for help is an act of courage, not weakness.

One couldn’t help but notice the beautiful variety of faces represented that evening—and appropriately so. Mental health touches every age, every story, every family. We all carry our own radiant light, and when we choose to share it, the darkness loses some of its power.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, sponsored, volunteered, donated, shared our message, or simply walked beside us.

Until next year, may we continue carrying our light when we can and asking for help when we need it.

It’s not every night we’re invited to the Forsyth City Council meeting to talk about our mission at Arena Counseling. A huge thank you to Mayor Goolsby for the support! We were able to extend a personal invitation to everyone present to join us Friday night for Light in The Dark. Our councilmen and woman asked insightful questions backed by compassionate curiosity and I felt genuine support from the leadership of this city I love. The excitement regarding Friday night is so palpable! We just need to make sure everyone knows about it, because folks can’t come to an important, meaningful event they don’t know about. Please share, share, share and make sure you’re at the Recreation Department at 7:30. See you there!

Are you a mom who could benefit from gathering with other moms at the end of another school year to share your unique stories of how this school year collectively grew both you and your kid(s) up even more? Maybe it was ridiculously hard and you need a space to feel seen and heard in that. Maybe you were stunned by just how good and how proud you are and you want a place to celebrate that with other moms who will cheer too. Perhaps you want to lean into a space where you set some goals for what 2026-2027 will look like. Whatever the need for your Mama soul, let’s meet together and be each others’ hype girls. I really believe we’ll be better for it. I’m getting the sugary, salty, crafty, liquidy goods Friday morning and want to make sure I’m prepared so sign up Now and let me know. ✨ Light in the Dark ✨

Mental health matters, and no one should have to face their struggles alone. Join us as we come together to shine a light for hope and support local youth in our community. 💚

This campaign is about connection, compassion, and making sure young people continue receiving the mental health care they need. Every conversation, every light, and every act of support makes a difference.

Ways to participate:
💡 Turn Monroe County green by displaying a green bulb or fairy lights all month long
🕯 Join us on June 5 for an evening of community, connection, and a candlelight ceremony + walk
🤝 Support local youth and help restore access to mental health counseling
